I am between the Norwalk 189 and the 185 JJ. I am 6 feet and 160 pounds with all my gear on. I will be mounting the skis with the salomon guardian binding and will be doing lots of side country as well as lots of inbounds skiing. I live on the east coast so I will be skiing a lot of tight trees and in a lot of tight areas. The reason why I am leaning more towards the JJ is because of the shorter turning radius (16m). I am really looking for something that I can snap around and flick around. I like to ski aggressive and hit lots of drops and anything that comes in my way. I don't think I will be landing switch at all either. The reason why I am looking into the Norwalk because I feel as though I will really be able to skin really well with the ski.
Am I going to be able to flick the 189 Norwalk good enough? Even for the east coast? Or maybe I should go to the 179 Norwalk since it has the flatter non rocker tail and will maybe ski similar to the 185 JJ length?
