LG Env touch.....HELP!!!

ok so i needed a new phone so i ordered an env touch off of ebay. I'm on my parents plan and we all have basic phones (no data). Ive read that the env touch requires data, and also read that it doesnt. I was wondering if anyone had one and could answer my question.....DOES IT REQUIRE A DATA PLAN?????? Thanks NS and +K for help

its like 5 or 10 bucks a month. i had one. you might not even need it.

yeah i heard that, but then I heard you could get a data block or something. I think it has changed a couple times since it came out, haha so annoying wish i could just get  a straight answer.. +K for help though

you can use it without data, when you get the phone take the battery out, and soak it in water for like 5 minutes, then put the battery back in and turn it on.

you dont have to have a data plan to use it.i used to have an iphone without a data plan,all you have to do is shut off the 3g capability on the phone and dont let your carrier know you have it .
