Just got a new set of skis but I don't know what bindings to get. I've been looking around and thinking of getting the Squire's. Does anyone know what they are like?
I've been riding the Squire's for a few seasons now, and much prefer them to the Griffon. I find them just as durable and strong, but they're considerably lighter and cheaper as well I believe. Think they only go to a din of 11 though, so if you're after something stronger than that pay the extra and upgrade to the Griffon.
I have them and I weight 155. The din settings go up to 11 on mine and that is for a pretty huge person so no matter what your size is or experience level is, I think that you can make them work. I won't say that they are the best bindings by any means, but they aren't bad at all!
I had squires with some of my first skis and they worked great, but really it depends a lot on your weight, what you wanna do with your skis, and especially your ability. If you ski blues and blacks moderately fast but nothing crazy and you weigh in or under 160 or 170, you'll be fine. But if you don't mind pitching in some extra coinage the griffons will never disappoint. Just be honest with what you'll be doing and you'll be alright :)
weight is not the only factor for DIN setting.. come on people.. you are better than that.. Sole length, height, weight, and skier type all play a factor. Check out this to see where you rank:
i had them last year and they worked fine, no problems and did not snap off any breaks. I upgraded to the griffons this year though so ill be able to give a better comparasin of both later this season
