Rocker2s or Hellbents? +K for help

tryin to decidel rocker2s are from last year and hellbents are like 3-4 years back both are in pretty much the same condition

Never ridden rocker 2 but I can speak for hellbent. So is it 3 or 4 years old because thats when the changed it. There are 2 generations hellbents and 3 years of each. This year, last year and 2010/11 is 2nd gen. The 3 years before that it was the 1st.

I have the second and love them. They are super soft and playful. That might be bad for a heavier person but I'm pretty light so its good. They float like none other. It is safe to say that they float better than any ski ever. But there are some disadvantages. They are super heavy. They are not very good on hardpack. I'm not saying not skiable but there are definitely other pow skis that are better on hard pack.

So they float super well and they are really playful and they are best in bottomless pow.

i would personally go with the rocker2s hellbents are really soft which is god if you want a playful ski but bad if your going to be sending big drops and not always landing perfectly centered. just my opinion.

just curious, have you ever skis hellbents? Also pep fujas and andy mayre seem to do fine on them and they go pretty big

pep fujas and andy mayre ski hellbents, but k2 puts an extra metal sheet in them to make them stiffer. there actually a completetly different ski then you could walk into a store and buy.

Bullshit. Worst lie ever.

Same skis you can grab off the shelt in the store. You would never ever want a sheet of metal in a HellBent. Half the fun of a HellBent is the flex.

People always used to say we made Seth's skis with a super core too and sheets of metal becase the production model was 'too soft'.

Not true as well.

Jokes aside, I would go first gen hellbents. I would love a pair. Never skied them, but they look insanely fun. The Petitor is real close in dimensions but other than that idk how similar they are.

1st generation HellBents had a very flexible tip and tail and were 122 underfoot. The new Pettitor sought to take everything we learned from both HellBents and the ObSethed and blend it into one. The Pettitor takes the floatation of the Bent but increases the daily driver capability as it is much more powerful through the fore and aft sections to increase crud busting capability. The added tip/tial taper also helps here.

Pettitor has more camber than the regular HellBent too and it quite snappy when you load it up. If you are coparing a Rocker 2 to the HellBent, those skis are pretty different for sure. Pettitor vs. Rocker 2 is more of an equal comparison. The larger size of the Rocker 2 gets to be I believe 122mm underfoot, while the Pettitor clocks in at 120mm.

The HellBent obvioulsy has a much wider profile overall (132 underfoot), making it the undosputed beat of the deep for the 3 skis we mentioned here.

Ryan, here's the situation. I currently have the OG hellbents, and I'm looking to add a mid level daily driver ski, plus a Utah side/slack country ski. I was thinking of the Petitor as a daily ride, Bents as my deep day ski, and a recent model of Obsethed's as my "touring" ski with Barons.

You think there's too much overlap? I really don't want to get rid of the bents, because I love them too much, but my worries are: Petitor too much like it to have both? Maybe a Fujas as daily ski, or Fujas for touring (but could it handle a really epic Utah day)?
