Sleep Screaming.

For as long as i can remember, I have been told that I scream in my sleep. From what I hear its usually negative (no...No...NO NONONO NOOOOOOOO!!!!!) and very urgent. So obviously I am aware that other people have what are called "night terrors" in which they have frightening dreams and react vocally. But for me..i rarely have nightmares. I dream very vividly and often times sequentially (instead of a series of random situations and problems i am actually dreaming about the in between time of walking from place to place ect.)

A few times i have been woken up as these attacks are happening and it literally goes like this..

"OH MY GOOOODDD WHERE ARE THEY COMING FROM?!?!? WHERE ARE THEY COMING FR-oh hey man...whats going on?" with literally NO recollection of any unpleasantness in my dream that i was just having seconds earlier.

Often times people will tell me they thought i was literally being abducted by aliens through my window and even though i remember my dreams clearly from the night before, they had no "terror" involved whatsoever. like i got a free everything at walmart coupon.

The only time i have ever remembered what i was dreaming as an attack was occuring and was woken up in the middle of it, I was standing with 3 men in a circle kind of erecting this large rope tower of psychadelic colors as it span, similar to doing pottery. the spinning machine started to slow down and the tower started to slump and actually recede back into the floor creating this spiraling colorful drainhole. we all tried to gather it back up to build it up again but the hole spread and I was about to be sucked in when i woke up.

has anybody experienced anything like this before? or knows anyone with a similar issue?

well i use to sleep walk when i was young and on one occasion i woke up just as i began to pee in a trash can in my kitchen, somehow i was able to stop lol

my gf does this occasionally, she usually dreams about spiders or snakes or something and freaks out while shes asleep, sometimes i can even have conversations with her. the craziest time she actually woke me up lifted up the pillow and it went like this
her "do you see that?'
me "what" (she just woke me up)
her "that huge spider right there" and slammed the pillow on it
then i shook her and she didnt know she said anything, cracks me up once i figure out whats going on

Girl that went to the same hs as me had it really bad. She would physically get involved with the night terror without waking up, like run away and scream just a terrifying high pitch scream. One time her house was under construction and she had a sliding door in her room which lead out to an unfinished balcony, so no guard rail. Well she had a night terror and got freaked out, she ran out sliding door, running off the balcony without even knowing it and fell 2 stories to her back onto some concrete blocks. Destroyed her back in idk how many places and was out of school for a year, nearly paralyzed just royally fucked.

my hockey team was in a hotel for an away game a few weeks and we found out one of our teammates screams in his sleep, all of a sudden at 3:00am he hollers " HEY! SLEEPING!!" my heart was racing for several minutes after that sudden awakening

My roommate used to do this was so annoying. She also thrashes and kicks in her sleep.

I always here my sister yelling random shit in her sleep in the next room over. She also ocasionally neighs like a horse. Annoying as he'll. if you yell shut the fuck up or go back to bed to her, she'll sometimes stop.... Lol.

I used to sleep walk, and then i would start screaming because of a scary dream. It was always because of scary dreams though, usually because i was getting chased by someone and then i would start yelling as loud as i could.

Havent done it in years though, i read online that you can grow out of it

Do you feel tense in the morning? If you are feeling tense you may be having more negative dreams than you can remember. Also could be you slept funny or your bed sucks. Either way might be something to think about.

I share a room with my older brother and he does it occasionally, but usually he just sits up in his bed and mumbles some stuff. On occasion he will come to my bed and hit me, so most of the time when it happens i will yell at him and he will hit me so ill punch him and he will wake up. I at least once a week will scream but its the same type of thing you are talking about, i havent had a nightmare in years. One time me and my brother had a full out fight while we were both asleep though. We woke up and he had a black eye, we both had bloody noses and he had a huge cut streamed down his face. the room was trashed and one of our windows was broken and a chair had flown out of it and was in the yard.

I have very intense talking/screaming fits in my sleep apparently. My roommate says that I yell a lot, and I also change my voice and get accents. But lately I've just done a lot of screaming, which probably accounts for all of the stress I've been under.

I will do this about once every month or two. I will wake up half way through a scream. So suddenly I will be awake in my bed screaming and breathing heavy.

last night i had a dream where it was the first day of skiing. i was getting ready in the lodge and realized that one of my full tilt ski boots was missing a lase. so i ran around looking at all the local ski shops that are scattered all across the hill. the laces that everybody had were all too long. so i was pretty fuckin pissed that i couldn't find a lace for my ski boots and i woke up

I hit stop buttons in my sleep and bump my girlfriend as if she was a chairlift(I'm a lifty). Also a couple of nights ago in my sleep sat up, pointed to my girlfriend and told her to put a helmet on.

I woke up from the circlejerk dream completeley relaxed yea.

I usually feel pretty relaxed in the morning, like i just vent demons all night. I usually wake up after most dreams 4 or 5 times a night i have and analyze them on their gnar factor/vividness whatever.

Ive found also that i dont scream or have good dream recall in the morning when i blaze within 2 hours of going to bed. just mellowed dreaming about deep sea procrastinating and not saying much to my tribe of jigglypuffs, wont remember it because im baked.

one time i woke up strangling my girlfriend with nightwood and had no idea what the fuck was going on. i thought i had woken up during like rough sex. Apparently i was like yelling my brothers name and telling him "CLEAN UP THOSE FUCKING CHEERIOS RIGHT NOW!" during the strangle. Could not remember any part of the dream or even conjure an image. But normally i dream extremely vividly and have great dream recall.

Its like late night split personality. fight club shit.
