London Freeze Festival - Volunteers Wanted

Hey NS.

Looking for skiers to help out at London Freeze festival in Battersea, UK. Maintaining the conditions of the snow on the ramp, mainly sideslipping the landing. You'll need to be reasonably confident on skis and also have a fairly good level of fitness.

In return for around 6 hours work a day you'll receive a weekend festival pass, food during your shift and the best view of the action!

hit regionals, i think 90% of members are from the US/Canada... if i could get time off work i would hit it for sure, unfortunately a couple of people from the branch of snow & rock where i work are already going so i cant get the time off...bad times.

Would we get a chance to hit the jump/Meet the athletes? would be cool to do this but I'm north of scotland and it's quite a bitch to get down to london

Hi Magnus,

Unfortunately, no you wouldn't get a chance to hit the jump for various reasons.

Regarding meeting the athletes - it's pretty chilled around the ramp, if you see someone you want to talk to, and they're not busy, just have a chat. I've been doing Freeze for I think 5 years now and all the guys I have talked to have been sound.

Would I have to bring my own skis? Boots are fair enough but bringing along skis on a 14hour journey can get annoying.

Nah inverness, Seriously wanting to but the cheapest train I can find is £95, gotta check buses though, even a flight might be cheaper.

It's not going to rain, it'll be clear skies, cold enough for the snow to remain in good condition, but not so cold as to be uncomfortable. Zero wind.

the problem is that if you fly with skis there gonna charge you more than the cost of the flight to take them. i'm pretty sure im going to be helping out and will be bussing it down from edinburgh which will be grim but worth it.
