so i just finished shoving a shitload of araldite/epoxy into a blown sidewall/edge, will post pics when cured tomorrow, kind of an experiment into home repairing as this is the 4th blown edge this nz winter!
Better to glue wood in there than just use epoxy. I bought some Super 7s last year that had 3 blown sidewalls that the previous guy had tried to fix with epoxy and half of it has cracked out. I glued birch sections in to replace all the damage and they held solid all winter.
if it does come out again it might be worth buying a new stick of sidewall material and cutting it into shape and epoxying it into the gap or you could tear up an old pair of sidewalled skis and epoxy a piece of sidewall from them in. this is probably just overkill though and its more likely to just ski on them till you're done with them and get a new pair.
