Hey guys so I have the Sennheiser EW 100 G3 wireless mic hooked into a Tascam Dr-40 for audio. I've been noticing sporadically that I get some weird chatter from my wireless mic. All my connections are good and it seems to be coming from the little antennae on the transmitter causing the noise. Not really sure if that's the issue, but thought I'd see if anyone could help me determine what was causing the noise and help me fix the issue. Here's a short video clip with the audio chattering.
could be something with the frequencies, i'd check the RF and signal levels for that.
could just be a bad connection somewhere. whether its on the lav, check the connections at the element and the belt pack. usually if its a wire problem, its with in the first 3 inches of the ends..
it could be the element itself. or the belt pack. i'd go somewhere and try swapping different parts of it out. ie. a different element on your beltpack, or your element on a different belt pack. etc .
or it could be the connection at the receiver going into your camera.
It only seems to flare up as the subject wearing the mic gets about 60-80 feet from the reciever. But even then it's not consistent chatter. It comes in and out.
Did you scan for a clean setting/channel? You may have had a packed bank and you were hitting distance with it. For weddings im normally 60ft away and always make sure to have a clean bank.
