Blah blah blah... Bitch rant...
I was a vegetarian once as well. It lasted a whole day.
So please tell me. What has your research about the most sustainable fish? Which fish are the most sustainable? And whats wrong with farmed fish? Its not like there are any cruelty issues there as the fish are not killed any differently or humanely as your fresh caught fish out of a lake are. And the fish don't know the difference between a man made pond and a lake/reservoir... BTW most lakes are actually stocked annually with fish that come from guess where... A FARM!!! So by that logic the fisherman that catch your farmed fish (if it is a freshwater fish in a local lake) are the same fish that come from the farm that stocked the lake that year.
If were talking ocean fish like salmon, tuna, halibut etc. Then most of those are caught by fisherman and then they proceed to either sufocate because of the lack of water, or they are either killed and gutted immediately or thrown into a giant freezer on the larger commercial vessels. So the very fish you eat no matter where they come from are either cut open while alive and have their guts ripped out while they;re still flipping, or they suffocate to death on a stringer, in a plastic bag, in a cooler, or wherever they get put while the fisherman keep fishing. Humane right?
Don't bring fish into this cause whether I gut the thing while its alive, or people in a factory gut them while they are alive, or whether they suffocate. It sucks for the fish and is a shitty way to die. But I get to then enjoy that fish later as a delicious meal that I am very grateful for.
Also, for the 3 deer I've shot in my life. (1 bow, 2 rifle) Ive retrieved every one. The 2 I shot with a gun, immediately dropped to the ground dead without even moving a muscle as I shot them. They were instantly killed with no suffering. Thats what happens as a bullet carrying over 3000 ft lbs of force hits you. Upon gutting the deer, both times, the impact of the bullet had broken the spine resulting in instant lights out.
As for my archery buck. The deer ran about 15 yards from where I shot it and died. I practice shooting my bow at least 3 times a week and I know where to shoot a deer. The deer's lungs and heart were all punctured and the deer was dead within a minute from internal bleeding.
Sure there are cases of unethical hunters out there. But that comes with everything in life. Theres always those douche bags that take up the spotlight because of theyre actions when in reality, 95% of us hunters are hunting as humanely and efficiently as possible. And yes we enjoy it. If we didn't enjoy it at least a little bit, we wouldn't be hunting in the first place.
I'll invite you over for some deer ribs and elk tenderloin in 2 weeks if you want? You can know that the meat was harvested humanely in a natural habitat with no hormones or filler. And its a very sustainable food source just like cattle are. Only difference, is that deer and elk don't have fences, they can roam and live their lives unaltered by human presence.
