today i upgraded my 4s to ios 6, beta 3, and figured i'd share with everybody. ive used it for a few hours, and its pretty fun. definitely different. also, siri has more things it does.

It's been the same connector since like 2001......how many different chargers and "innovative" devices has Motorola or LG created since then? I can't believe they waited this long to scale it down.

yeah thunderbolt or usb3 would be awesome, I hope they include a 30->19pin adapter with the iPhone6

well, if they're going to change it up why not standardize the connector over all platforms??...like say to USB Mini (which all android phones use now and many 3rd party apple accessories use)..... it's because they want to charge to license their proprietary hardware...i have a hard time believing this is for consumer benefit.

because mini USB sucks ass....and if the rumors are true the 19pin will be compatible with miniUSB anyway

why does USB Mini suck ass exactly?

but yeah that would be dope if it is 100% compatible with usb mini...it would solve a ton of problems for consumers

besides the fact that they get "loose" after repeated use and don't lock in like the 30pin, they only do charging and data transfer, while the 30pin does that plus audio/video (http://pinouts.ru/PortableDevices/ipod_pinout.shtml)
why would apple switch to something that won't be faster and is less capable?

USB Mini isn't as capable as Apple's connection, otherwise I totally agree.

in what way? (btw USB Mini can carry audio/video signals... hence being able to plug into TVs/head units/PCs and being able to play....i don't know where the other dude got the idea that it can't)

whether or not it can do any of those things it doesn't matter, its not any faster so there's no reason for Apple to switch to it, whatever it is that Apple switches to it'll be faster

It's 1000x better than any Android phone from around that time is, and is STILL getting support from Apple, while some Android phones from less than a year ago will never see jellybean...

bump. Who's got it now? I just downloaded it about 5 minutes ago, but so far I'm pretty impressed with how fast Siri is now. Still playing with it some.

ive been on the full version for a couple days now, i like it a lot. siri is pretty useful. also ive used the gps a few times and it is soooo much better. love it. i also noticed using maps hurts my battery less than it did on ios 5. also the panorama feature is really cool. i'll see if i can get a good pic to post later

you could always put the phone in do not disturb mode before ios 6. all you had to do was put it in vibrate mode then turn the vibrate to silent. the only thing was i would always forget to turn it back on in the morning so i guess the feature is kinda useful

I'm not kidding that's the biggest thing making me want an Iphone 5. Bigger screen would be nice too, but that dock connector would be so useful for me.

just downloaded it and I'm still playing around with it. so far I love it, can't wait to actually use the passbook feature, seems like it will come in handy a lot. does anybody know if you can upload gift cards onto passbook? if so it will make it that much more awesome.

how did you guys do the panorama stuff? mine can't do it (iphone 4)

they had to update it at some point- thats the same port they used since the first ipod came out- they are trying to move away from old technology...just because it inconveniences people doesnt mean they shouldnt keep updating their products- and its not like people arent going to buy any iphones because of the new port...its smart and its gonna make them even more money
