Some one that is good with math... explain LOG's..

when we started doing this bullshit i realized i was never in my life gonna use it again. so i quit and failed logs.

yea, thats what i did, and now my career happens to deal with it make me use it all the time. so now i'm trying to re learn it.

my math teacher has a youtube channel where he like explains shit. the channel is ferrantemath. that may help you a bit

well if you have a job that has anything to do with science, then you might use it.

if I don't learn it then I will have a hard time in the future.

Log by itself tends to be to the base of 10

10log(100)=20
so
log(100)=2

meaning that the base (10) needs to be put to a power of 2 to get 100

I know i haven't done a very good job there but try youtube or some other interactive BS too.

so its how many times that "log" number goes into the other number..

10 Log of 100 is 10(2)

which = 20.

yeah unless the log has a number as a subscript its taken to be base 10

If there is no number where B is, you can assume that it is 10.

All it is saying is that B to the power of A equals C

Logs are the inverse of exponential expressions, where log(10) is the same as 10^x=10, where x=1; therefore, log(10)=1. Numbers on the outside of logs, like in 10log(100), is the same as log(100)^10--as you can see, the number on the outside is simply just the exponent you raise x to in log(x).

In this case, 10log(100) is the same as log(10^20), which is the same as 20log(10) (just messing around with it at this point to show you how you can manipulate them). Going back to log(10^20), this in exponential form is 10^x=10^20...same base so x=20.

Also, you could decide to leave the 10 on the outside in 10log(100), and just solve log(100), and then multiply it by 10. You'll get the same result. Putting the numbers on the outside is helpful because you can divide/multiply them if you're solving for something.

Example: 10log(100)+x=20log(10)
-Divide by 10 to both sides: log(100)+x=2log(10)
-Simplify log expressions: 2+x=2(1), x=0

This should be pretty simple since we're working with 10's, and the natural base of a log is 10. Sorry if this got sloppy, i hate reading math in html, and let me know if you need other help.
