Hey NS, I was just outside utilizing hail from the recent storm on my summer setup (felt like snow, it was sick) and I was forced to stop because the outsides of my feet on either side were killing me. I had my 2012 hotdoggers all season and this has occurred before, but only when I am hiking.

Spark notes: Out sides of feet kill when I hike in my hotdogger (2012's) but not when I'm just skiing or taking hot laps.


QUESTION: how do I fix this? I was thinking maybe packing out the liner on the sides but I don't know. I assume I have wide feet, but it only happens when I am hiking so I really have no idea.

By the sounds of it you need some support in teh boot, in teh form of a footbed, and possible the shell making wider at the forfoot.

Full Tilts come with no footbed, so you foot is probably pronating, making your foot feel wider. A foot bed will support you in a neutral position which could help. You may also need a slight sheel strech done, but only get this done once you have the footbed.

Overal, go to a good bootfitting shop, and have a fitter asses your foot, and probably make you some custom footbeds. Dont just get ready made superfeet, there just not worth it.

I have the same problem with my hot doggers, I think it's because when you hike in ski boots your on your toes which pushes your feet inward putting the weight on the outside edge.

how long have u been off skis? if u have been wearing flip flops and shoes with little or no support your feet will actually almost lose shape and it will take a couple more times in your boots for them to feel good

It was happening during the winter also, I was skiing, in boots 3-4/7 days a week.
