How do you do hangovers?

how do you handle hangovers? I'm 23 now.. and for the last year or so my hangovers have been getting worst and worst... It truly sucks.. anyways I am nursing a hangover right now.. its almost 8pm and i'm finally ready to eat some food... suggestions??

I want to hear all your hangover solutions... as well as your favorite hangover foods/activities.

dude! the same for me.. I woke up and for an hour I was golden and imaginary high-fiving the hangover gods.. then it hit me out of nowhere and now I've been laying around dying for the past 5 hours or so

well, slam a gatorade the night before if youre somewhat with it and know you're in it for the longhaul


anyway..


just water in the morning and a lil pinner, usually a spliff. or back in vancouver rip the bong in bed and listen to some tycho. make it outta bed later and get some coffe goin.

To avoid hangovers (believe it or not I dont care) you must absolutely drink water while drinking booze. Lets say every 2 or 3 cups drink several sips of water. It will just help your body digest the alcohol and evacuate it more smoothly and without you noticing it. ANd drinking water doesn't make you less drunk at all, drinking water is jump to help your body feel nice the next day.

the worst thing you can do when you have a hangover is stay in bed and not eat anything. eat a bagel or something with a lot of carbs and then go outside for a walk. i like going for a short hike. fresh air and sunshine will feel bad at first but after a while it really helps to rejuvenation your body.

I've actually done that quite a few times and it def helps.. but generally.. i'm just too busy having an awesome time getting wasted to think about water... so unfortunately I have to deal with it the hard way. =(

Yeah o was board yesterday and I read a thing that said that. U should do that because alcohol sometimes help to dehydrate you so that water helps backfire it or something

True !! That's why when I notice i didn't drink water since a while I just drink a lot in one go.
But maybe there's like a "best time" to drink water, that I don't know. Just drink water (and as much booze as possible off course)

Rule of twos Two Glasses of water, Two tums and Two advil all before you go to bed and then just live a normal life the next day even if you do have a bit of a hangover still.

Also when i was younger id wake up jack off shit and then take a luke warm shower right when i got up and that seemed to help a bunch as well

Water before bed. Gatorade, bud, and greasy breakfast in the am. Donno why but if I force down some bacon and eggs I'm good for the day after.

IDK why but I never get a hangover. I can be blacked out drunk, wake up next morning and not feel a thing wrong. Its just a massive headache right?

Drink a ton of water before bed, but don't pop any pills, they don't mix well with alcohol. Wake up around 7AM to pee, and at that point make yourself some alkaseltzer; it's got antipain meds in it and does the trick. Drink that and more water, go back to bed, wake up around 11:30 ready to go.

Works every time. I literally don't get hangovers.

I didn't get them much when I was younger.. yea its a headache.. if its really bad you'll throw up all day and have a hard time eating and drinking... also dizziness... and whenever i am hungover I always feel sort of stoned.. just kinda dazed and dumb.. I think that is the only cool thing about a hangover.

Right before you go to bed, slam a shit load of water, and take a piss. If you smoke weed, take a bong rip. The morning after have a toasted bagel with butter, slam some more water, and continue on with your day.

I really don't get hangovers, but that probably because I'm young. When I do get them though i just wake up drink some orange juice and try to eat something usually does the trick. Or at night if you eat something with some carbs in it after drinking it helps to absorb the alcohol a bit.

well, you have your answer. There is only one way to truly avoid a bad hangover, and it's water during drinking and before you go to bed for the night.

Any talk about "oh, I have too much fun getting wasted to drink water while partying" just tells me you still have some growing up to do. But, I'm not here to lecture you on life, so we'll just leave it at that.

Never use pain meds for hangovers. Just destroys your liver...

and to OP, usually if your hangover doesn't start til later in the day it's because your still a little drunk in the morning and your body hasn't processed all the alcohol.

poop is your best freind, you gotta blast all that booze out and there is two ways it can go, up or down, down is much better. I usually wake up, coffee and tylenol/advil whatevs, ciggarette, halfway through the ciggy I'll get the feelin', go in blast poo, come back and make a nice greasy breakfast with plenty of toast, bacon, eggs. after that another ciggy/coffee and another poop, then smoke a bowl, good to go.

All advil will do is slow your metabolism, so if it does help the hangover in the morning it's because you're still kinda drunk.

This may be a little extreme for you, but I stopped eating wheat and gluten about 4 months ago and I haven''t gotten a hangover since. It is fucking sweet cus I used to get absolutely brutal ones.

When I wake up I just drink a shit ton of water and eat some food. I'll throw up about half the time, but once I throw up I start to feel fine. If I don't throw up then the water and food take care of it.

I heard high quality vodka reduces potential hangovers. I should have had that last night instead of vodka/champage/coorslight/tequila/fireball...

I think you misunderstood.. its not that I don't want to drink water.. its just that usually if I am out at a bar or a club or especially in the summer drinking outside at random spots.. well I just sort of forget to drink water. but you are probably right.. I do need to grow up a bit.

I have been having this other kinda fucked problem lately too though.. because I live in the netherlands.. so if you go to a bar or club you have to either buy water or bring a beer cup to the toilet and fill it from the tap.. not a big deal.. but lately if you drink too much water bouncers and bar tenders freak out and think you are on drugs. Its pretty wack.. a friend of mine got thrown out of a club for getting two waters at the bar because they thought he was on pills.. when actually he just wanted to help prevent a hangover. so dumb.

My go-to routine: if I'm sober enough to remember, I'll down a glass or two of water before bed. Then the morning after, I'll usually wake up decently early, go grab a glass of orange juice, down it, find a gatorade, and drink as much of it as I can. Go back to bed, and wake up a few hours later, drink more gatorade. Depending on how early it is, I'll go back to sleep or just wake up and deal with it. I find that if I drink gatorade/water throughout the morning, the hangover won't be too bad later.

i read this as "random sports" which made me think of a good point. When im at a football or baseball game, and I go get beer-- I always utilize both hands for the beer-- because you want to keep the number of times you have to get up/wait in line to a minimum. Ordering water would require the use of a very valuable beer holder.

This is sort of the same at clubs. Often times you're ordering more than one drink for friends or whatever.

But mainly its just an issue of forgetting. By the time im getting hammered enough to realize i should be drinking water, I'm too hammered to realize it.

ya this thread is actually kinda going opposite of the way I wanted it to.. I know plenty of preventative measures for hangovers.. I was actually more interested in what kinda hangover foods everyone likes.. and what your hangover activities are (besides excessive NS'ing) I guess I didn't make that clear enough in the original post :P

Greasy food always, and usually just sit there and do nothing. Pretty much a wasted day for the most part, unless I plan on drinking all weekend, then it's just wake up, have some water, eat, and start drinking again.

excedrin migraine was the shit, but it was recalled. I cry everyday about this.

Now I take 3 ibuprofin and drink water/coffee/sugar free rockstars, and usually hang in my PJs and watch movies. I also carb load because it makes me feel better. Usually I eat pretty low carb but when im super hung over I order thai food- lots of rice, pad thai...

My headache went away fairly quickly this morning so think I will go golfing this afternoon. It's a leisurely enough activity when you rent a cart that you can feel somewhat productive--like your day wasn't completely wasted-- without over exerting yourself.

Also laying on the beach with a hair of the dog helps.

I get THE worst hangovers, I have to drink A LOT to get them but when I do I'm usually throwing up all day.  Outside of drinking water the night before, the only thing that has helped is drinking when I wake up in the morning.  If I am still drunk when I wake up, I will take a shot or two and go back to bed.  When I wake up from that nap I'm usually good to go.

more booze or just wait until the next day. my hangovers would last until 4am the next morning (if I had to work nights, they wouldn't stop until around then)

and when I'm drinking, there's no way I'm thinking of preventing my hangover or drinking water. it's just beers beers beers passedoutdrunk. after college my hangovers got a lot worse though

it seems like the older i get, the worse my hangovers are. 2 day hangovers aren't unheard of. it seems like the only thing that'll take care of a gnar hangover these days is a hefty dose of opiates. clearly my liver is no where near as efficient as it used to be.

sorry for the double post...missed this before. dude, you aren't even lying. hangovers were a walk in the park until i hit about 27 or 28 and suddenly they started getting worse and worse.

Late night, my friends and I have water-chugging contests to get super hydrated. Once you are hungover the best thing to do is get outside and be active... It'll absolutely suck while you are doing it, but you'll feel better after a run + shower than if you had just laid around feeling sick.

wake up. check facebook and my phone for any dumb things I may have said. Clean my place if necessary. then sleep away the day either on a beach or on my couch. sleep early and wake up early to do the shit i should have done the day before.
