I lived in Atlanta for 7 years, the majority of my school was black. Every one of my friends thought that the term 'African American' was more degrading than 'black.' They said it was because when they refer to a white person they don't get specific and say 'Italian American' or 'Russian American.'

lol i dont think their is much of an outcry over the hideousness. those rubber bands would get so sweaty and uncomfortable though. but with that said, i guarantee people of all races would be buying those, just for the "irony" of it

Not only did I not say or imply that, I didn't say or imply anything close to that.

I don't think the shoes in OP are racist but the people's responses to the people who do think it's racist was to "get over slavery" because "you didn't go through it" and "it was a long time ago"

I never said the shoes were racist, some people did. The responses to these people who thought they were racist were not talking about how the shoes are not intended to be racist, but were talking about to get over slavery because it was a long time ago which is the most insensitive stupid thing I've ever heard.



If not ignoring slavery makes me seem unintelligent or "scum" then fuck it.
