Taking Tramp Tricks To Snow?

My friend just got a trampoline, and ever since I've learned back & front flips, misty and rodeo 5's and 7's. Before I would never even dare think of even trying these tricks on snow, but now that I have them on the trampoline, would it be a lot easier to land them on snow if I were to try?

way easier!!! times ten! because u get the feel of the trick.. but when u take it to the hill u do the same just u need to get about 20 pounds of gear around..also the tramp helps u get some air awareness and that help a ton!

It would certainly be easier. My friend learned mistys on tramp then on flat (not necessary) then on snow. He says they are a lot easier after doing those steps of progression. In fact it is almost essential that you know the tricks on tramp or diving board before you do it in snow or on skis. Keep tramping and then when you feel confident you can go do it on snow. (remember to have some good foundation tricks on skis first)

u just have to remmeber to get the trick around faster on snow cuz u got ur planks on dem feet...but yeah i teaches u air awarness. it helps

The first time you go inverted with skis on, its deff a shift from jumping on the tramp. It helps a lot to have that almost muscle memory of your tricks in the air, but I waaayyy under rotated my first backflip just because the weight of skis above my head really threw me off. Huck HARD, harder than you thought you'd have to.

really dumb it down. first backflip? make sure to tuck for your knees, and watch it all the way around. huck hard, but not 5 feet before the lip. good luck man

Take your tricks to diving boards. Tricks on diving boards feel alot closer to skis then tramps do. plus when it comes time to take it to snow (way to far away :( ) remember to pop off the lip and once you are airborne it feels just like the diving board. good luck!

of course! but dont. they will ruin the tramp and your skis get bent quite a bit when you're jumping plus if you eject they will probably hit you...

What I did is I used and plastic snowboard-like sled and cut it down the middle with a jigsaw and rounded the tips and then filed the edges. I taped on some shoes and now I have tramp skis.

you can make some trampoline skis (which is what i did) but they can become a little floppy..just make some outta cardboard and foam..its seems to work fine with me

WI like this thread!

I think this will help me, cause I got hella tricks on tramp and diving board, and try them on skis and always go outa whack mid way through.

I now need to throw the tricks harder then on tramp, and be patient, and let the rotation happen and not force it, which causes me to get outa whack.

I've always wanted to put ankle weights on while Tramping, I feel like it would help. I'm A really confident on a trampoline (lots of dubs) /claim but when it comes to snow I can't really invert at all besides misty and almost cork. Any recommendations besides sacking up and hucking?

while i cant to much in terms of flips on skis or trampoline, im actually better on backwards rotations on skis ( backflips and flats) because i always travel a ton on a trampoline, and end up landing off it, which is scary. i need to learn to jump then flip on trampoline.

I thought about this too^

Ankle weights would be a start; but, its hard to replicate the "swing weight" the length of the skis add to your rotation. Tramp skis are good for that if you can make them right.

Honestly we just got to go huck it on snow, knowing we can stomp it on diving board/ tramp. I think we just gotta be patient and keep our core flexed out so we don't spin out of the set roto.

as its been said, you learn muscle memory with your tricks, which i found incredibly helpful when taking tricks to snow. For example, whenever i throw flat 3's on skis, i automatically grab japan without thinking about it, even on my first one ever.

I have never thrown much of jumps. But i have hit the tramp for about 2 months straight and today took it to a diving board and I was getting everything around so easily. Especially Rodeo 5's. Hopefully that correlates to snow next season.

It actually won't help at all, it will take you on the wrong direction do a little searchbarrin on ankle weights and trampolines. The ankle weights give you weight directly on your feet when you're wearing skis the weight is not on you, it is around you

I suggest bouncing lower or doing tricks off a smaller tramp or off something, this is what I did and it helps more to feel like snow then weights because it's less air time so you have to flip faster! It's also fun and more impressive hahaha.

It's a bad idea. Beside the many health risks it really isn't anything like having skis on your feet. Skis are swing weight, ankle weights are just dead weight. When you do a backflip, your skis have momentum, when you do one on a tramp, your feet have none and instead you would have to forcefully throw them over your head. This is same for all tricks. This process would create bad habits which when carried over into skiing will end horribly. I'm all for training but just tramp to get the movements. That's from the thread dedicated to ankle weights on tramps. Other people said it helps with spins but not any inverted tricks

That is why weights on your feet are kinda pointless. They just make your feet heavier, they don't give you any mass at a distance from you. It is the interaction of this mass about the axis of rotation that makes it feel how it feels.

If I backflip on a tramp the way I backflip on skis, I fly backwards about 10ft. That's not to say that tramp flips don't help, because they're really good for air awareness and just feeling the rotation, but things change a lot when you take them to snow. Plus factoring in the kicker changes things as well.

nope. sack up and do it. go for a backflip first. its honestly the easiest to grasp. People have said it before, you gotta huck and tuck hard. you can always open up and slow your rotation, but opening up too soon and trying to bring it around is alot harder.

I have put weights on tramp skis before, it did replicate real skis pretty well. only problem is you can not bounce as high(i could only get half the height of normal bouncing.) and i could only have the weights around the shoe area so they had no swing weight. It seemed like a sweet idea at the time, but when i did it, it was super hard work, not that fun and all most impossible to do anything more than a back flip or rodeo.

true, but crank up your dins and maybe put cardboard on the edge so you don't bust up your tramp, it might work.

nothing to big haha. But anyways, it was a powder day and i couldnt really get any speed for jumps. Then out of no where i just said fuck it and went for rode 5 for the first time. I tried so hard to get speed. I ended up going a little to big and broke my collar bone then skied down the the lodge.
