Surfing in Oregon?

Is it fun? I'm going to oregon this summer and for a few days I'm gunna be learning to surf. It sounds like fun to me, but has anyone else done it?

The Oregon Coast has some excellent surfing.

The main complaint is that the water is cold...but whiners ought to man up and enjoy the surf.

First off the water is not that cold at all, especially if you have a wetsuit. The waves are fun for sure and for learning they will be great. I would do it for sure, have fun

Go windsurfing in the gorge if your upper body is strong enough. I think its the best wind surfing in the world if im not mistaken

I'd learn to surf first... Windsurfing's fun but can be done any where with water and wind. Hence the name

this person has never surfed the oregon coast. I'd reccomend I solid 4:3 and u'll be solid, you won't be able to have a full session without one though. definitely some good spots though especially for learning

Get a 4/3 wetsuit, boots, and gloves. Make sure you're at least in decent swimming shape because swimming in a thicker wetsuit is tiring.

I know lots of bros surf in oregon but its looks nasty. Have you ever been to the oregon coast? Sure isnt the place id want to learn to surf
