The first two are reasonable. The last one is not. The last thing you want anywhere near you is people you care about. Realistically, the best group is one that you know will do what it takes to survive without hesitation but have as little emotional attachment to any of them as possible.
And that quiz is stupid, I got 402 but it's meaningless. Guarantee I could survive for quite a while. Your survival response really does need to be flexible though. Need to tailor that shit to the type of zombie apocalypse that's going on. Slow spread or rapid pandemic? Can the zombies deal with water? Can they climb? How is the virus transmitted? What kills them? etc etc etc.
Don't trust people to be responsible for their own suicide. People's natural instinct is to try to live. They will almost certainly hide it. You need to be proactive.
A revolver is also probably a mistake, limited magazine and potential reliability issues. Just get a reliable sidearm with easy to carry clips.
As far as the melee shit goes, it's far from a dream weapon. Ideally you shouldn't need to use it. There are very few situations where it is better tp whip out a freaking sword as compared to simply getting the fuck out of dodge. It's ten out of ten for style but minus several hundred for sensible thinking, basically.
I understand the thinking of lobo from WWZ, sort of, but that's more of a military implementation because the likelihood that you'll need a shovel on a regular basis is small. Still it's not a bad call if you need to get through something (like a locked door or a wall). Point there is that if you're going to carry a melee weapon it should serve multiple purposes so as to be an efficient use of weight / space capacity.
I guess what I'm saying is, overall, you're probably better off with a glock than any revolver you could find simply by virtue of the magazine, easier loading and the fact that they're known for not failing.

Why is it that people actually believe they know what a zombie apocalypse would be like? How does anyone know if they are detered by fire? They aren't real.....or are they...no....no they are not.
This is overly simplistic. You're gambling a lot because an elevated fortress isn't just hard to get into, it's hard to get out of... and you have to get food sometime. I'd rather keep moving.
