I was just given an old Zeiss Ikon Contax I Camera, Contax T, and a Leitz Prado 250 Projector. Since I am no collector or photographer, can anyone point me to a good website or person to get a value estimate?
adorama.com and keh.com sell a lot of old film camera, so you could use those of a price check, but unless you know exactly which model it is then that won't be of much help. Try googling the model and look for a serial number chart. A lot of the time there were only minor changes in upgrades so only the serial can really tell you which model you have. You'd be best to take it to a camera store that specializes in vintage gear. They will be able to give you an accurate estimation as well as condition.
The hardest to figure out is the Zeiss Ikon Contax I. I have no idea what version it is. I found a number, but nothing corresponds on the internet. All I know is that it came from Germany.
