If you truly are his mom, you deserve to be disappointed that he did not win. However, given your age, I would expect you would realize that not everything in life comes directly to you and that life isn't always fair to you as you see it. To the kid - keep skiing hard and don't focus on big mental wins or losses, focus on the little things.
