Irony on Mt. St. Helens

So my friends and I were at Mt St Helens the day before the earthquakes began. And we were at the end of the 3 and a half mile lava tube called the Ape Caves when one of us made the allusion that it would definatley suck if the Mountain erupted again while we were in this pitch black hole. Funny how life is.

if we had been there when the earthquake hit and we felt it in the cave, then THAT would be ironic.

Yeah, not really ironic, ironic would be if you moved on to the mountain because it was garunteed never to erupt again in your life. I think that would be closer to an irony.

it would be coincidental (since it hasnt happened in 20 years, and I'm assuming you dont explore lava tubes every day), but not so much irony there.
