i love tom and all he has done for the sport of skiing, but i honestly believe travis should win. he is an all around crazy and incredible athlete who really deserves it

this kinda makes sense because travis is the only i enjoy watching ride motocross. But lately he's stopped doing motocross and has gone more toward just driving cars which is super boring to watch so i voted for tom

The fact that Tom Wallisch made it past the first round indicates that the sheep of ns are the only ones who really vote on these things...

Honestly beating Kelly Slater? If Tom can keep his record up for the next 8 years or so he might be close to reaching the same level... imagine if JP and JF were still winning Skiing slope-style comps, that is about the equivalent of what Kelly has done with surfing.

Just pondering, it seems to me surfing is a lot less impact based than skiing? So having the kind of longevity Kelly Slater has enjoyed is not really feasible for a  guy like Tom?  Injuries are an integral part of our sport.

you never get what you deserve, you only get what you negotiate. so let's negotiate a win for wallisch here so that skiing can get more attention and guys that kill it in our sport can make more money as a result. stop the bullshit and vote for tom.

Surfing is such a more mellow sport though, our athletes physically cannot compete at the same level for that long. Our barrier is the human body.

This exactly. No disrespect to Slater, he is a legend. But not only does Tom have the competition side of things to worry about. He shoots a ton of crazy urban, which is infinitely tougher on the body. If anybody deserves to take it from Tom it's Travis for sure. He is multi-talented, and pushes each sport he is in as hard as he can. I'm gonna vote Tom just because I am a skier, thats how it goes. haha.

do you not understand the question of the survey? CURRENT as in past year or 2... wallisch has won so many events and done so much crazy stuff in the past 2 years..... as an action sport athelte travis has done a lot less in the aspect of competing and winning the contests

Ya, because getting hit by a wave is so damn easy on the body...

MOO... Tom Wallisch is a great skier, but he really has not done that much to develop the sport, especially compared to what Kelly has done for Surfing. Yes, he has won a lot of comps, and filmed some pretty impressive urban segments, but what has he done for the sport other than convince a bunch of teenagers to buy Full tilts?

Done. I see what people mean about Pastrana, the dude's hardcore, but he now drives NASTAR, i.e. the dullest sport ever, and he wasn't even very good at rally driving (yeah he did ok in the states but was rubbish in the WRC). Tom has had an amazing season and deserves the win for sure, I haven't seen anyone else in any action sport be as dominant as him this year.

Everyone who is bitching about Travis deserving it should shut up. It honestly does not fucking matter.

It's not like Travis wins anything for this anyway. Travis may deserve it more, but honestly, who cares. I don't know if anyone realizes this but probably 60 - 70% of the people voting in this bracket are from NS. No one really cares about this anyway.
I'm voting for Tom just cause I want hm to win this because he is a skier. I could care less who deserves it more. It's not like winning an olympic gold medal, it's an online bracket that absolutely no one cares about. Neither Tom nor Travis will lose/gain anything from losing/winning this.

Most of the "tubes" that you see surfers ride are in INCREDIBLY shallow water. These people ride waves that are 15 feet tall and break into 2 feet of water over coral reef. Most of the time, its not impact based, but when you fuck up, your going to get fucked up. Also, pro surfers on the ASP are much more physically fit, and work out a ton.
