wow all the scores are fucked. the announcers are super confused it s really funny.
Are the judges playing dice in their booth and attributing random scores ?

Seriously. Honestly though, his rails were pretty spot on as well. The second feature wasn't the best thing done, but the nose butter almost made up for it.

I think he'd do better if he avoided boxes and sent it a little bigger on his jumps

I don't understand why he should need to send it bigger one jumps.

I mean, he nails the the tech tricks (read doubles) just as well, if not better, than most of the other competitors and even though he does lack pop of the kickers I don't find them rushed or hucked in comparison to other skiers who could be argued go bigger than he does.

Personally, I think creativity should get more of a consideration. If you have the balls to do a huge tweaked safety zero or butters or presses or what have you - it should be recognised as attempting to make yourself different and noticed.

However, these guys want to win comps and noone should stop them from stomping the lines that the judges want to see if it lets them get to where they want to be.

Sw2 tap disaster on - following 2 out, lazyboy 3 up 270 on, left dub 12 mute, sw right 9 leading safety, forward misty 10 screaming seaman grab, 450 out of the half rainbow...

he got shafted with an 80 IMO

well, yeah it was creative, but it was also super hard. No one else got on top of the wall because that's crazy sauce.

"Creative" is a funny word. I mean, anything that hasn't been done before can be called creative, no? That would put triples (or any other big huck - like Torin's switch 1800 for example) in the creative category, no?

Style does not equal creativity... but if you can combine the two (Henrik is on that path) - you have something that can't be touched.

watching the replay on espn3.com, middle of first runs.....Russ Henshaw has ELEVATED his style game. Real talk, he looked Wallischian in the first run. Crazy shit. Everything was bolts and casual as a motherfucker. God damn.

Also, that French kid was fresh. Some really unique stuff. Man, Jossi will have a banger if he holds it together....

I just wanna see how tech B-Dog got on this course. Also, IMO, Russ should've topped Wallisch. He was rock solid, though he didn't go as big as Wallisch on the jumps.

As cool as I think it wold be for Wallisch to win again it's time for Russ to top the podium. He seems like such a nice guy that works super hard and he is always throwing borderline perfect runs.

Haha I know what I just posted is what of other people are posting so I apologize for basically a repost but it's also how I really feel.

i know people say he gets underscored for not taking the jumps as deep, but seriously he deserved to win this one so much. taking the jumps deep or not he clearly beat wallisch

I was actually a little disappointed in Phil's runs...don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching his skiing, just think he could have really separated himself by choosing to be a little more progressive on the jibs.

Also, really disappointed that Jossi couldn't put a run to his feet. You know, I'm starting to wonder if maybe he has some sort of comp anxiety, or some other mental issue that prevents him for reaching his tip top potential. I mean, I'm not trying to be really critical of the guy, but I feel like talent wise he's top tier, and yet recent history, in terms of results anyway, doesn't suggest that. And, it's not like he puts down mediocre runs and just misses the cut-off, it's like he crashes in comps more than he doesn't. It's a shame because he represents skiing the right way, and is one of a handful of guys who really finds that balance between tech, style, creativity/uniqueness where he appeals equally to a casual observer and a ski junkie. Vibes out to him, could really tell how he buzzed out the course that he was really frustrated.

Same goes for Kai Mahler—the frustration part...I thought his first run was underscored significantly, probably due to the fact that he was what, second to drop?

Overall, I'm pretty pumped on the qualifiers, and I can't wait to watch the finals manana. Just a reminder for everyone State side, 10am MT!

yup.

he skipped the rail, did a sw margarine 5 to a major nose margarine onto a 15ft box to regular. those are such easy tricks. tired of people thinking they can get away w this margarine business. jf houle butters, casabon butters. i applaud his desire to mix it up, but his skis don't even show the slightest flex

that being said the rest of his run was pretty sick, absolutely stomped his jumps and first and last rail hits.

He has a real point. I was thinking the exact same thing. No hate towards Russ, but Russ was straight up reverting, sliding to switch. Margarine (in his post) = fake or light butter.

Rails were alright, jumps looked pretty tiny. Sad considering its supposed to be an X-games event - not that the jumps in Aspen were 'huge', but the European X should at least be able to match their size. I'm real tired of watching Wallisch drop back to back switch dub rodeo 10's - step it up, everyone knows you've got it in you. I'm more tired though of watching judges fondle his wall-nuts. I personally think the top three should have been rearranged to: 1. Russ, 2. Joss, 3. Wallisch.

Casabons run was pretty meh compared to what I expected. Maybe it would have gone off if the course was a bit more gnarly then it was. I mean, it was a sick set-up that lacked scale, that canon rail was weak as fuck. Russ threw down, and looked cleaner then anyone IMO, just never takes it deep enough to place higher -____-. Biggest disappointment, no Henrik :/ Thats my two cents.

Well, Brown was amazing, three stomped runs and switching up every time, that's what I like to see in comps. Deserved the win, no doubt and those blunt dub corks were stylish as hell.

Totally agree. If anyone was going to beat Tom, I'm glad it was Bobby. All 3 of his runs were perfect, and changed them up a bit each time. Also happy for Hatveit...always smiling. Great podium in my opinion!! Tom getting silver is great, although it sure would have made history if he had gotten another Gold after the season he's had.
