Best way to get around AGC

I plan on doing some shooting today and I have a t2i with magic lantern, even with the external audio there is still no way to disable the audio gain control. Just wondering how much it'll matter and what are the best ways to control the "hissing" sound/get rid of it without having to buy an XLR. +k to all

the more i'm reading into it there's an ipod trick to do it but it's also sounding like it's an option in magic lantern as well, doing some tests right now but if anyone has any knowledge on this it's much appreciated

I do the ipod trick. Biggest pain in the ass ever. You have to find somewhere to attach an ipod to your camera, and need a y splitter cable. You still get that "hissing" noise with it to. Its real hard to grt the exact sound you want as well. It was such a pain in the ass for me i just said screw it and i dont use it anymore. It should be the same as te

Sorry. On mobile. It should be the same as the magic lantern one. The only reason i use it is because i have a t3i and the AGC on magic lantern for the t3i isnt compatiable.

you have to enable the advanced menu in ML to be able to turn off AGC. i think you press the menu button while youre in the ML menu. it says on the last page of the ML menu
