michigan troop #1, only went to webelo though i wish i took it further. our leader kind of sucked the fun out of it for me.

also an ex scout, from PA troop #74. i hated all the badges and rank crap but i can say that boy scouts is what got me into being outside and you learn some pretty awesome stuff

MD 719. Got eagle and palms. Got to do all sorts of awesome stuff like backpacking and sailing. Definitely the reason I'm as outdoorsy as I am now.

I did it one year. i was in like 6th grade, every trip we went on was rainy, and we always got lost or some shit.

i quit because i was sick of the ranking bullshit and badges, and the paperwork you had to do to get one. i was new to it that year and on the trips i couldnt do jack because the other kids were like "ooohhh you dont have your match lighting/pocket knife certification, you cant use them then." i just got fed up with all the official bullshit.

now i wish i could go camping and do more outdoor stuff, because i am really interested in that stuff now and appreciate it a lot more.

Troop 325, Eagle. Haha sure hated some of the badges like environmental science and family life but definitely gave me good experience of the outdoors

Troop 4 nevada Eagle. Hated some of it but damn did those high adventure camps make me love the outdoors.

I asked my dad if I could join the boh scouts when i was little and he told me he could teach me far more about the outdoors than they ever could and he has. Did I miss anything by not joining the boy scouts and learning from my dad?
