Which Mustang?

Should my brother get....

2007 standard for 11k
2005 GT for 15k

If he got the 2007 he wouldn't need any loan, while if he got the GT he would need to borrow money (roughly 4k)

Which would you go with and why?

Obviously the GT has more power, but it's 2 years older, gets worse gas mileage and he will need to borrow money. This will be his every day car too, not just a weekend car.

if he gets the gt he will obviously have more fun but if he gets the mod bug then he'll end up dumping thousands into it

2007 all the way. Seems more financially responsible.

GT:
1.Higher insurance.
2.4k loan which will probably be almost 5k with interest after its paid off.
3.wastes gas so higher gas bill.
4.More expensive repairs

its quick. like very quick. not that fast for a sports car -though i have been in it while he was going 135. so if something faster than 140 is wanted i would go for the 2005 gt.

This is what he is thinking, and since he will be driving everyday, the extra gas mileage will add up nicely over time
Off hand I don't know exactly the difference but its around 5-8mpg I think, of course it all depends on how you drive it haha

And 135, I think that will be fast enough for him, In a Envoy Denali he went 95 and I passed him going about 110, and he was content with the speed, but then again, a mustang is made to go fast.......an envoy is not haha

have driven both a GT and a regular v6. the gt was insanely fun and cool to drive. the v6 was retarded. might as well buy something else. basically you are paying for the mustang name with the v6, the car itself is extremely unpractical. tiny ass seats in the back, shitty mileage, and if you have a v6 you look like a retard. you cant even rev at a stoplight and look cool.


if you are going to get a mustang, get the GT. If not you might as well get something more practical.

honestly I hate to be that guy, but go elsewhere with your money. Mustangs aren't nearly as good of a drive as some of the other cars out there in the same price range

And my brother loves the body style of the mustang, it's his cash...


It's a 300hp Mustang GT for 15k or a 210hp Mustang for 11k, find me another car 2005 or newer with 300hp thats 15k.......

Seriously, find me one, I'm not much of a car person that's why I'm asking NS, and neither is my brother, but from what we know, you get the most bang for your buck with mustangs

you can get a supercharged 3.8L v6 for around 5k. 240 hp. Can take on a mustang easily. It's called a pontiac bonneville ssei. I have one. Its fucking nice.

Gas mileage shouldn't be a concern, its only a 2mpg in the city and highway difference between the v8 and v6.

You can easily talk down the 05 GT, its a V8, and unless it has next to no miles, I wouldnt pay more than 12.5 for it. YOU NEVER EVER PAY ASKING PRICE ON A CAR, EVVVVVVER!

Makes sense.

Prime example of this is this time last year I bought me an Impreza. I could of gone with the wrx, would of it been fun? fuck yeah!!! was it financially responsible of me to buy it? nope. so I didnt and I went with the 2.5i instead. Its still really fast for my standards and I get about 25 mpg with it. and plus no high insurance costs. I knew I made the right decision. This example applies perfectly with buying the normal mustang to the GT.

both of those, g35's, 350's, bunch of volvo's (you'd be surprised how well they drive, and the are cheap and you can find sick ones), 3 series, i could keep going but you get the point (all above 300hp). Its not all about HP either if you want a good drive, the mustangs drive like bricks, same way with the new cameros (about the last car I would buy). It is his money so no hate if he just loves the body style, but if hes thinking he wants a fun-to-drive car then his first choice shouldn't be mustangs

* Body style - the base 05-10 Stang doesn't look like a muscle car at all

Get a 03-04 SVT Cobra, S/Cd V8 6 Speed. Tune and some little mods and you have a 500hp monster.

haha this thread is classic high school toool. Yoooooo i gotta get the fastest car possible for my money. Dude just get a nice comfortable car you can get something pretty decent with that kind of money for him. Your going to want 4 doors. Its beyond a hassle to deal with carrying people and stuff in a two door car. Tehres way nicer cars out there for that kind of money

V6 are for chicks I don't care how much power it has. If they make a v8 buy it otherwise buy the biggest motor they put in the car. If he doesnt make sure ur bro has a penis. Also if ur buying a car for fuel Econ wtf is he buying a mustang for?buy a fiesta, Mazda3, civic, ect. Buying a v6 mustang is the lamest thing ever!! It screams im trying but i either dont know shit about cars Or i think im cool cuz i have a "mustang" Those cars are built for 2 reasons 1 to keep fords fuel economy avgs even after building the much cooler and powerful gt and secondly to market to the daddy who buys the slower v6 version for his daughters sweet sixteen bc he doesn't want her to kill herself when she realizes what a gas pedal is.

My point wasn't that either of those cars were worth buying with that many miles; my point was that you don't have to look hard (STi = most recommended car on NS) to find 300hp cars for less than 15k
