Search Bar sucks

There needs to be a overhaul on the search bar. You are only able to search one word at a time and if you try to search for a thread and you know the exact title it wont be able to find it. I know there are other ways of searching for threads like the Google site:newschoolers.com search. We need kind of a more advanced search bar for example the TGR forum advanced search

instead of having this

i end up google search half the time because the searchbar doesnt bring me to what i was looking for unless it is like sell and trade items

I was thinking for forum searching, why not make it so you can search by forum? Say you're looking for info on skis, you can just type in the keyword, and select "search gear talk"

This is actually a great idea... but to really maintain it we'd have to have a better up/down voting system of feature suggestions and such.

The main problem is that the internal list that we keep has all kinds of back-end stuff that would just get voted down as it seems uninteresting... but is very vital. So we could have like a fixes/features type thing that was public. Again though, it would have to be linked into our project management software.

NS is a very complicated beast on the backend. The main thing that is tricky is handling growth. The growth has been astronomical lately, and that requires all kinds of stuff to be re-written to handle load. You guys never notice anything change, but tonnes on the back end changes.

I honestly just used keywords and search google with newschoolers.com because the search bar on hear blows so hard.

Holy shit. I remember when 150k/200k was a big deal; it was an NS landmark...but this is unbelievable. Like...speechless. I never knew it had gotten like this.
