Consequences of Trying My First Inversions

So this weekend I'm planning on trying a front flip and/or a misty five and or a flat five. I can do the tricks consistently on a tramp/diving board; I have them visualized and everything. The only thing holding me back is fear of the consequences of crashing. Any guidance or encouraging words?

Crashing a frontflip isn't that bad. In all likelihood, you'll knock your skis off, and maybe get a little shin bang. If you really don't commit, you might knock the wind out of yourself. But you'll probably get pretty close and lock them down after a try or two.

if you commit and huck yoself and know the feeling of the rotation, you will never land on your head. do them off of decent sized jumps, 15-25 range. enough time to get it around but not too big where you can injure yourself badly.

Just learned my first inverts today, sent a rodeo 5. Super scary the first time, you just gotta huck it. Came around so nice, stomped it 2nd try. You got it no problem, first one is going to be scary, after that they are just fun!

Be careful when trying backys not to over-rotate by throwing yourself as hard as you can. I hurt myself pretty bad fucking this up before.

Remember to pop, throw your hips and head back as much as possible but leave your feet behind you, as you come round and spot the landing, then bring your feet round. Apparently.

I think for the flat/rodeo five, I'm just going to throw my feet towards my shoulders and drop my shoulders and kinda whip my legs around. Does this sound right? It's the trick I'm least comfortable trying.

yes. what i did when learning flat 3's: i take my right knee and put it over my left shoulder while grabbing right safety. IMO i think they are easier and less scary to learn than backflips
