What is the most pain you've ever been in?

for me it would probably be the immediate pain from when i was backed over by a boat this summer resulting in me having to get my leg amputated, i broke my tibia in 2 spots, the bottom of my femur, shattered my calcaneous broke a toe (it was cut in half) and like 4 or 5 bones in my foot, i also had 4 very large wounds aswell as a dangling toe that had been cut. it really sucked.

damn op's story is raw

I broke my arm, collar bone 2 times which required a plate the second time ummmm i just got surgery to get fluid taken out of my abdomen from falling on a rail and taking it to the gut. But the shittiest experience was moving to a new middle school after a parents divorce. First world problems, but shit was shitty.

I want to hear more about the amputation thats intense ++vibes

Someone accidentally threw a five pound chunk of gravel tile in my left eye, it also left a nasty cut below my eye.

For the first few hours the pain was excruciating.And my eye hurt like an incredible bitch for not even weeks but months afterwards.

I can barely see a thing with that eye because it's totally fucked up.

being awake and on no meds as the doctor pulled 7 inches of gauze out of my badly infected knee with tweezers

or

broke my tib and fib on a tramp, my ankle was twisted and dislocated, almost compounded, one of the bones felt like it was literally cutting out of my skin.

i got stabbed freshman year because i took some kid's hat. that hurt like hell. i've also been kicked in the face in mosh pits multiple times, which is never pleasant. but the worst was a broken nose and getting a tooth knocked down my throat when a HUGE dude hit me in the face with his forearm in a mosh pit.

i've never really had terrible pain. Pretty bad pain when i broke my arm but not too unbearable.

My dad tho had probably the worst pain possible. He got really bad kidneystones and he'd usually pass them in a couple of days after being in bed. Well it had been 5 days and he couldn't piss it out so he went to a urologist who determined that it was so big it couldn't pass through. So my dad had to get surgery with a tiny lazer going straight up the hole in his penis for pissing and the doctor zapped all kidney stones current and futurous. So as you can imagine this procedure would be painful but he had to get stints as well. The worst part is, he would have to urinate a lot. The doctor literally prescribed him hydrocodone and oxys for everytime he urinated. So for like 3 days every time my dad had to piss he popped some hydrocodone and oxys and literally screamed at the top of his lungs in pain for like 2 minutes. It hurt me just to hear it.

also, this didn't happen to me but some dude a couple of towns over got his arm caught just below the shoulder in some razor wire and it sliced it right off.

Well, its between two things for me, dealing with the same injury. Either the moment that I broke my femur straight in the middle, or when they set the bone without me being on pain meds. The first hurt extremely bad, its just kind of fuzzy for me because all i was really doing was screaming and not thinking. The second was awful, i felt the bones grinding against each other, was screaming bloody murder and the like. The doctors were surprised as shit when I didnt pass out either time.

Damn ^ (and a lot of you guys, just damn). I burst fractured my L1 vertebrae in '07. Still dislocated about 5mm, and it forced out all the fluid in between. It hurt quite a bit, but more just an unbearable dull pain, not like a sharp pain, it's hard to describe. It just sucks now because it affects everything, memory, depression, just not feeling "normal" ever, always uncomfortable everyday. Starting up PT again, so hopefully that helps out.

The most pain I have ever been in is when I was longboarding down a hill in massachussetts and I got hit by a car.

I was bombing down this hill with my friends and a car starting backing out a driveway at the bottom of a hill. Since I was going to fast to stop I decided to maneuver around it. The car then backed up all the way so that it was perpendicular to the direction of the street and flow of traffic, me. there was about a foot gap between the road and the sidewalk so i decided to jump and try to make it through the gap and roll. While i was in mid-jump, the car backed up all the way and i clipped the hood of the car with my legs. I did a full flip in mid air at about 30 mph and ladded right on my back and skidded for about 15 ft. I wasnt wearing no shirt because i had just been swimming in the ocean so my back was cut and up and bleeding everywhere. I was unconscious for a few seconds until my friends came and got me back on my feet. supposedly, while i was unconscious the person who had been in the car ran up to me and said, "you hit me. I no hit you," and then drove off.

Getting pinched under your arm is one of the most painful things ever. I fell on my tailbone on straight ice a few years back skiing. Couldn't walk down stairs without it hurting for a week. Those are both worse than when I tore my ACL.

I broke my hip a few years ago. I don't remember what the doctors called it but I basically fucked up the growth plate. When I did it it felt like someone took a sledge hammer and hit me right in the bone with it, and then a few seconds later the real pain hit and it was so bad I can't really describe it. But yea it fucking sucked.

Personally? I'm pretty lucky, but I'd say when I got my fingernails pulled back trying to strip a stupid big black running back last year in football. Like 2 of them came completely off. Now I wear gloves lols.



Worst I've ever heard, was when my uncle got hit on the head with a piece of dead fall. It broke his helmet, fractured his skull and compressed 4 of his vertebrae(like squished all the gooey bits out) and tore his chest and back muscles and compound fractured one of his shins. He was auditing a lot by himself right before he was supposed to go home, woke up right before sunset(middle of fall, nights are cold) had to drag himself back to the truck so he didn't die and radioed for help. Passed out from the pain in the cab of the truck, woke up 2 days later in the hospital.

Since then he's had 4 back surgeries to remove the damaged disks. He's got a metal cage surrounding his lumbar region now to keep all the goop in place and they removed 2 vertebrae so he's a couple inches shorter now. Still goes and chops wood like a boss though.

Most painful experience for me was waking up post op after having my jaw broken and moved forward like 6 mm. I had to be wired shut for 6 weeks after that surgery and that was a nightmare on its own. But the worst pain was after waking up form the surgery, I had to yawn and obviously you cannot control that, anyways I yawned and since my jaw was completely wired shut it was one of the most painful things I had to experience while on morphine.

It was the very last day of the season at my home mountain, and early in the day i way over shot a jump and landed backseat and slapped the side of my ass on ice, but just rode away. Later in the day i fell on a rail on the same side of my ass and it just started hurting so bad. I took another few runs, but as i kept going it felt like going over every single rut and bump i was going to pass out from the pain in my side... I then go in to check it out and find i have a MASSIVE hematoma on my ass, like the size of a grapefruit or a bit bigger, and it was totally purple and blue.. Ended up having to go to the hospital, but it twas the most painful thing ever, even worse than breaking my collarbone.

Well I have been pretty lucky never hurting myself seriously bad, I would say the worst pain I have been in was the first time I dislocated my shoulder. Worst part was after the first time, I dislocated it another 7 times. It hasn't dislocated in a couple years so I'm hoping it won't happen again

One times cut my leg open with a hedge trimmer. That required 100 or so stitches. Didn't hurt too bad though...

I can't think of any worst pain ever....

Oh that's right I broke a few ribs once. That was fucking painful as hell, I know what you mean dude. You're right though I feel like it can't compare with OP's story. I feel so bad for him just thinking about it.

the absolute worst for me was a snapping turtle to the web between my big toe and the rest of my toes. the fucker just latched on for at least 2 minutes which felt like 2 hours. worst feeling ever. pierced the whole way through, and I was up to my waist in water so I was freaking the fuck out.

actually, I might change that, falling longboarding at 45mph and losing skin across my entire body, I couldn't walk or do anything. when I slept my sheets would fuse to the wounds. thank god I had a script of vicodin.

Kidney Stones are probably the most painful thing I have experienced as of now. Felt like appendicitis but 10x worse. I'd say 9-9.5 on the pain scale 1-10.

Second would be appendicitis, that shit sucked real bad. Woke up from the surgery to the doc telling me I almost died. 8 pain.

Fractured vertebra in my lower back. That one sucked, it hurt to just walk. 7 pain.

Surgery on my collar bone was a bitch, hurt more then when I broke it. Having to sleep siting up is not fun/really hard to do. Plus I was waking up ever hour or so to re-up my pain meds. 7-8 pain.

Overshot a jump at hood a few years ago, caught and edge and went strait to my head. Ended up hyper-extending my neck/upper/middle back. Thought I had broken my neck for a while. I'd say 6-7.

Didn't hurt to bad but when I KO'd myself on a tree last winter, first time I've ever puked from hitting my head. I had the imprint of the weave of my beanie in my forehead for about a week and a half after that. 4-5.

I've done a lot of other stupid shit as well ruptured capillaries in my lungs from slams, broken nose, partial tears in my MCL's. Fucked my left knee up real good last winter overshooting a jump, slams skating, fucked my shoulder up cliff jumping ect.

I don't know if I could deal with what the OP went through though. That sounds insanely brutal.

ive had 3rd degree burns and broken a bunch of bones but nothing compared to when i got wrecked longboarding.. Doing like 30 or so, went through a puddle i didnt see and slid out, ended faceplanting and eating a curb. Pretty much tore off all the cartiledge in my ear, broke my hip, had a to bone hole in my arm, then just a ton of road rash all over my body. The worse part definitely wasnt the crash itself, but after we got to the hospital and it was a 3 hour wait i decided to just go back to my dorm. Not wanting to get blood in my bed, i slept on the floor. Overnight all of my open wounds fused to the floor so I was literally stuck to the floor when i woke up with all of my open wounds healing into the carpet. Ripping myself off of that floor was by far the worst thing i have ever had to do, and put me SO close to passing out. Again though, nothing even close to OP

when i crashed my pocketbike in grade 8 and the 6" kickstand went right through my leg. The kickstand passed through my skin and around the shinbone nearly coming out the other side. 3 years later and my leg is still black where it nearly poked through

DH mt. biking took a hairpin turn too fast and went over the side into trees. broke 3 ribs, right ankle, and a concussion. i remember dragging myself to the trail below and passing out due to the immense pain. i thought i was going to die.

While bmxing on a shitty jump, I sucked up the jump and went to much out and not enough up, my front wheel dug into the top of the landing and i went over the handlebars and head first into a large roller after the landing. My feet went over my head and i kinked up all awkwardly and broke the second lumbar vertebrae, and I was so twisted that a tendon tore a bone chunk off of L1 vertebrae. at the same time, I somehow ruptured a kidney.

after groaning and grunting for a while I walked it off and went to the clinic with my sister because I thought something was wrong. once we go there, shock wore off or something and it started to hurt so bad I just passed out and woke up sometime later in the hospital.
