Line Chronic top layer chipping/peeling?

i took out my 2012 line chronics for the first time yesterday and noticed when i got home that the top layer(where the artwork is) has a peel/chip on the side where one ski hit the other., is this normal? do all line skis do this? Should i try to fix it somehow? if so, how would i go about doing that? Thanks.

Not only is it normal, not only do pretty much all Line skis do that, pretty much ALL park skis will do that. It comes from your edges hitting the topsheet during either a fall or crossing your skis while grabbing. It doesn't do any damage to the skis other than the cosmetics.

Mine do the same thing. If the chips are hanging off I cut them off but other than that I just live them. P.S. I have this years Chronics.

alright you just made me feel ALOT better. What do i do when the chips are just hanging off? and does the chips hurt the value of the skis for resale?

Cut off the danglers. If you don't, they might continue to run down the ski. Don't peel them off though, cut em. And for resale, yeah unfortunately people aren't going to want skis with chipped top sheets as much as clean ones, thats how it goes; even if the chips don't really affect performance.

I wouldn't worry about resale on a park ski, it's going to be low no matter what unless they are brand new.

the first day of skiing my 09/10s they got a chip in the side after a year of skiing and hitting my setup you can ski the wood core now haha i got new skis now they are my setup and urban skis now

This happens a lot when skis are new. Just cut those danglers off carefully with a razor blade asap because they can peel and take more material off. If you chip down to the core, just cut off any hanging topsheet, and put a dab of epoxy over the hole and leave it to dry overnight.

Eventually, you'll stop getting new chips, and all the damage will be done, except a few here and there as the year goes on. Since you seem to be paying attention to the chips, keep doing so and you'll see what I mean as time progresses.
