all bindings have vertical heel release ....
you mean vertical toe release?
in which case, yes, both drivers 14 and 16 have vertical toe release...
and the difference between 14 and 16 is obviously the din range but also, if my mind serves me correct, the sth16 is pretty much an all-metal binding while the 14 still has a lot of plastic components ....
making the sth16 driver much more bombproof ....
anyways, both bindings are an excellent choice and if you're a normal sized guy and don't stomp gnarly ass lines in ak the 14 will do fine, if you want peace of mind and want a bombproof binding or if both bindings are pretty similar priced in your shop, you could just as well go for the 16 ....
