The Official Stept Productions' "S.K.A.T.E On Snow" Thread
a tail bluntslide is when your on your tails, tailpressing, but you're skis are at a 45 degree angle to the rail. a nose bluntslide is the same thing but on your noses.
what makes it a "bluntslide" is the angle in which your skis are related to the ground. this is what makes it different from a regular tailpress. neither of which have anything to do with how you get on the rail.
off the top of my head delorme, casabon, and maybe a couple others are the only people i've seen do legit bluntslides. casabon does one in afterdark? i think on the football goalpost. delorme does a couple on a rainbow rail here 1:27-1:34.
They can really only be done coming from a lip that is lower than the rail. its a pressure and momentum thing that fights the laws of gravity more than anything
wooooo! but on a side note, who really gives a fuck about this blunt/tail/slide/press business. They can call it whatever they want and do cool rail tricks as far as im concerned.
because there havent been one in a long time, here's one with laurent o martin and vince prevost, two great skier and a nice game a horse instead of skate haha
I hope so... a blunt slide is when you do a tail press during the whole rail(landing on the rail on your tail and keep pressing it until the end) when a tail press is just a press on the rail and it can be done anywhere on the rail(most likely at the end)
Why are all you bitches getting all caught up over names of tricks that are all basically the fucking same.
Bluntside is a skateboard trick and never will be a ski trick unless some one does one and literally slides only using the tip of their ski. We don't have trucks, stop wishing we did.
well a tailpress is just a press, a bluntslide is when you pop on the rail and land on your tail and keep it until the end of the rail which is a lot harder than just pressing the end of the rail like almost everyones doing
You guys should make a new thread to argue about tail presses. When this thread gets bumped I'm always disappointed to see more arguing and no new episodes.
