nah i'm messing, Nothing happens at my mountain really(as far as I'm aware) only thing i know of is my mate having to be heli'd off because he split his head open.

Not much really!

Well one of my friends lost control and went through 6 net fences that were by the lift line, he lost one ski at the 2nd fence and continued through the lift line until he hit the sixth fence.

Also we have glass panels at the bottom or our slope for spectators to watch the hill (it's indoor) someone crashed into one and smashed it?

i didn't see this one but a father and son were skiing in the woods and the dad hit a tree and died and the kid went down to the lift line and was waiting there for a while until they found his dad.

An hour and 4 minutes into the season at PCMR, someone mobbin down payday lost control and penguin slid into a snowblower giving him a mid-shaft femur fracture.

lots of heart attacks killing 45-60 year olds

there is also this 80 foot cliff to rocks that isn't marked off very well, a DU student hit it and died last year

There is another shoot where if you fall the fall line is off a sloping cliff starting at 45ft down to about 15. So depending on where you fall it can get ugly. Last year I was screaming at a Texan not to go down it, sure enough he did and I watched him plummet back first about 35 feet. Got up and laughed it off, I just skied away

Then There are these easy flat boxs at the top under a lift with a gaper magnet. They all try it fall. Take 3 minutes to get up and repeat

Two years ago a gaper skied right into one of the ski lift poles.  He had a screwdriver in his pocket that pierced right through his sack.

Aha I was locking up my gear to the ski stands once, and theres 2 sets of stands. The front row of stands sits at the bottom of the bunny hill and some snowboard gaper came wheeling in hard and yardsaled alll of this gear hard. Thats why you lean your skis on the back stands.

Other then that there was some snowboarder under the lift. Didn't see what happend but he was either sloshed or baked, and he was just laying there smiling, then got up skied 10 feet and then layed back down spread eagle smiling and laughing..... Ski patrol came and hauled him away

Some dude died at mount at Louis last season. And I heard a story from a friend that some old dude popped his nut with a ski pole when he fell at alpine

Back in the day a massive avi took out the main lodge and killed 7 people. Ive heard some gnarly stories from that.

A guy was bombing the black diamond and hit the lift tower once. He was in a coma for 2 weeks. He's okay now though. I don't think it was a gaper.

Saw this snowboarder drop of a cliff, powder enveloped him. We saw him on the lift, we saw him flailing around and just laughed..


The end of the day we saw a man that looked similar being drug in a bag down the mountain.


Found out the man died from lack of oxygen.


I have that image stuck in my mind forever now.

Okay should of described it better, he like was slipped into a half bag thing just with his feet/legs being covered, his upper body and face were visible. Jacket was the same as the guy.


Might not have been the same dude, It still made me sick though.

This year in Chile a 10 year old girl died getting caught up in a lift, she was in ski school, was really terrible, felt so bad for the instructor. Personally going back to work that afternoon was so tough, we only have 30 instructors, so everyone felt it hard.

someone dies at least once a year by hitting a tree.

most recently, when i was there, this dud and his kids were skiing, father didnt have a hemet, went into the woods, hit a tree and died. not a gaper at all, and his kids were waiting down in the lodge for an hour for him.....shits sad. and it was at night

I saw a guy break his back a few years back. He hit a jump going wayyy to fast and landed right on his back/neck. Shit was scary..i heard he ended up being paralized...but not sure about it.

a buddy of mine ate it off a jump and landed on his ski.. slid the edge of his ski down the length of his back.. cutting it wide open, blood everywhere.. the ski patrol came up and was telling him its not that bad, then looked up at me and mouthed "oh my god"

inb4 joes big fall.


and my brother had a gnarly crash a few years ago when one of his skis prereleased when he was going realy quick, and he flew off into the woods. with his body he cut a 2" thick sapling in half, pulled a foot wide, 100 pound stump out of the ground (roots and all), then got wedged between 2 big ass oak trees. he had a broken / dislocated shoulder, fucked up his knee, and a real bad concussion. he still cant lift his left arm over his head and has trouble walking sometimes because of his knee. hes lucky to be alive, he didnt even have a helmet on.

Well the worst accident to ever happen would probably have been two years ago when a father/son were working on the roof of the lodge. The son was on the ladder and the dad was steadying it from the ground, the ladder shifted into the power line, the son got fried and died on the scene I believe, the dad's feet and hands got blown off (according to rumor anyway) and he later died in the hospital.

Not sure if it is true or not, but I heard that two guys (or mabeye it was just one dude) died taking a canoe down the steepest run.

I was up at a-basin this summer when a paraplegic guy died. although i think that might have been cardiac arrest, and abay isn't really my home mountain. but still, was  scary to see the guy getting cpr for something like 25 min straight before they gave up

my ski coach jumped of a cliff lost control, he hit a tree and twisted his leg 360 degrees, 3 years later he has gone through 11 surgerys and had to amputate this year

just as i was about to take the lift up and rake out the park last year the chairlift at my mountain derailed. definitely the scariest thing i have ever seen. saw some people got tossed off the chair, broken legs and whatnot, surprised people didnt get more injured though. chairs slammed into the ground and some were about 20 ft above the lift towers. soo glad i wasnt on the chair when that happened.
