Snowboarding Picture on Homepage

It's a sickkk picture and all, but come onnnn, this is a skiing website. There's plenty of sick skiing user pictures that could be used.

I'm pretty sure they could have picked any of a number of super amazing skiing shots. It's a good shot, but so many others could have been used.

In reality you guys picked it. The homepage is totally automated and linked to the Photo Of The Day. So if a ton of people decide to rank up a snowboard picture then it gets the space.

Its a pretty sick picture, I don't really see a problem with it!

Hahaha really? Dude its gonna be on the home-page for ONE DAY... Why are you making a thread about it? It's a dope picture, so I'd say it deserves to be up... Plus their are snowboarders on NS and it's a nice thing to see when you get to NS.

Yeah this is 100% the truth. We actually REMOVED the ability for us to have anything to do with the selection of the homepage, because we wanted to see what happens when we leave it in the hands of the newschoolers users.

I think its great that the users of this site are so open minded to good photography that they would rank a snowboard picture high. That speaks volumes about the amount of respect that truly resides deep down in us all.

I didn't know that the new homepage system was automated. I admitted in my OP that it was a sick picture, I was just wondering what was up with a snowboard picture being "chosen" as the homepage of a skiing website. I was more curious how/why it was chosen than I was a "making a fuss".

I definitely approve of this system... very cool to see a picture uploaded by myself on the front page. I think it provides a little bit of incentive to upload more awesome photos.
