we have had the arguement of style/rotation. Now can we please move on and do something about this. i know we have KOS and ski movies like stept and level 1 but should there be a legit competition where people get judged on style?
And tell me smart guy, how are you going to judge style ... ?
Who are you to say Wallisch has a better style than Hatveit? Both dude held their grabs as long as then can and both of them usually stomp their shit clean. so? Wallisch caus' he wears 4xl ?
Listen i know where you are coming from i really do. I didnt make this thread to argue over outwear and looking gangster or the difference etween skiers. If you want to do that go to another thread please. I want to find out if this can be done. I know some judging is fucked believe me i have seen it. But i want to know if we can broaden the sport. We all know who has styla and who dosen't. Look at Harlaut for instance. It wouldn matter how thin or thick hes outwear is he still oozes style and we know it
NINE22 are supposedly holding a 'style' comp in japan this season.
they posted this on facebook a few weeks ago
"Nine22 Apparel
Lots of talk about the lack of appreciation for style now that we have copious doubles and triples being thrown. In retaliation (we froth on style), there will be a Nine22 competition, yet to be named, in Japan this coming season, and it will be PURELY based on STYLE alone!! The comp will feature spin limits on each jump, and presses and bonks etc will take precedent over spins on and off!!! We are psyched, you should be too!! There are numerous Nine22 riders scheduled to appear, and it will be an open format, so if you're in or near Hakuba in late feb/early march, come check it out!!! Pass on the info so everyone knows that style is not dead!!!! If there's a ton of interest and it is a successful event, you can expect to see it grow through some different places internationally next year!!!!!"
