Bindings for Line Chronic

Hi guys!

I'm about to buy a pair of Chronics. But I have som concerns regarding the mounting and size of bindings.
The Chronics are 92mm underfoot. The problem is that in a lot of webshops the same binding is available ind both 90mm and 110mm. I assume that this is the dimension of the brake.
My question is, is it necessary to get the binding in 110mm?

The other question is regarding the mounting. lineskis.com says that the ideal stance is -60mm. When i browse the threads here in "gear talk" you all refer to the stance as 1, 1½, 2. I suppose that this number i the stance in inches. Can anyone confirm this?

Hoping to hear from you, I'm a Danish guy in need of some help because of the technical language barrier :)

I have salomon sth drivers fitted to my domains with a 90mm brake. The waist on the domains is 90mm and there is still a few mm play between the sidewall and the brake arm. I would say that a 90mm brake would be fine for you as they usually run a little big anyway. As the for the mounting, 60mm back seems rather alot, I would think about mounting maybe 20mm back max but it all preference

ive got griffons on my chronics and the 90mm brake works fine, its only 2mm difference. so no, a 110mm brake is not necesairy

But about the stance. Here's the link to the chronic at line's website. It says -60 mm. I've been working in Alpe d'Huez in France. I bought a pair of Mojos there, and when they asked me about where I would like the binding mounted, the reffered to the stance in percent. They told me that 5% back is ideal for allmountain on most non symmetrical skis.

I dont think 60 mm is that much on a 183 cm ski. What is your experiences?

Go STH Drivers for sure, either 12 or 14 (16 if you really think you need it). 90mm brake will be perfect.


As for mounting point/stance, what are you going to be using the ski for? Park? All Mountain?

I have been skiing a little park, but nothing more than straight airs on small red kickers. But the thing I have been told about the Chronic is that is is versatile all over the mountain. So I will be using it for allmountain skiing. Playing in the rough in the side of the slopes, a little powder when it is possible in the european climate, and keeping the oppurtunity to develop my park skills.

So I would say 70% allmountain 30% park

I usually mount my skis -2. -6(60mm) seems like that might be a little too far back.

So when you say -2 it means 20mm and not 2inches as I thought??

I found a more specific data sheet in line website.


It says -62mm from center.

Hmmm, because the chronic is only 4mm from symmetrical I'd mount them dead centre for all park but 20mm back for a bit more versatility, 62mm just seems a hell of alot for a ski with those dimensions

I just got my chronics mounted today and I went 3cms back of true center. Im gonna be skiing about 60% All Mountain and 40% park so I went with a happy medium.

cheapest and best option is to get old rossi pivot race bindings from a racer.  buy em for under 50 bucks, bend the brakes, and BOOM great bindings for ridic cheap.  it's what pros like LJ Strenio do.  I've don't it 3 seasons in a row, works great
