Line Skis Choices

So, i need new park skis this year and im stuck between the 2012 Step Up and the 2012 Chronic. I like a wider ski, so the chronic wins in that category. But i like a true twin also, so the step up wins in that category. I also dont spend the whole entire day in the park either, but im there most of the time.
I dont hit huge stuff (15-35ft) at my mountain, and im not doing huge tricks either. Anyone got any advice or opinions. Anyone ever center mounted a chronic or chronic cryptonite?

chronics for sure. Built way better imo, none of that skate deck stuff. annnndd you said you like a wider ski and will not be spending the whole day in the park.

chronic and mount it like 2 or 3 cm behind true center. I've heard that center mounting is virtually the same but i'll let you know later this season.

I'd say chronic because you did say you like a wider ski, you don't ski park all day and the chronic are practically symmetrical.

Mos def chronic at -2.5 of center. Step ups are jus abangers on roids.

I'd vote chronics. I still ride skinny one, but for an all mountain/park ski they're pretty awesome. I've got mine at -3.5.

ive skied both chronics and step ups. step ups were fun while they lasted but the wood underfoot started splitting. now im on chronics. i like them more. shred chronics brothah! the new step up construction seems to be better then last year tho. this year the have side wall underfoot so i think that will help with the splitting wood problem. have a good winter man

honestly, if you care about weight of skis you should go work out. 92 underfoot is fine for park and everything else.

chronics, and the difference between 88mm and 92mm underfoot wont be noticable.

I have had the chronics before and loved them. i mounted them center and wished i wouldnt have. i would go 1 or 2 cm back from true center.

Got my cryps centered and they are amazing. If you like a wider ski I would definitely take them over the step up, but I have never skied the step up. Cryps are almost symmetrical anyway, only 4mm difference between tip and tail.

the chronic is your best bet i have the skate deck stuff good for rails an that is it if your doing other stuff like just groomers go with the chronic

Schizos will add alot of weight. Jus sayin. But yeah I had two pairs of cryptos. One center mounted and one at -2.5 of center. Ripped so much harder at -2.5. Kept feeling over the bars when landing forward on big booters on center mount. But it's preference. And 92 is fine. Shoot I'm on the new bacons at 108 underfoot for park this year. Once ya go fat, you'll never go back. Haha

It semms to me that nobody realized that '12 Step Ups are nothing to do with last year ones. Now they've got almost standart sidewall construction with a bit of skate deck in tips and tails. So for now they are pretty much skinnier symmetric Chronics with even better than already nice sintered base. Love mine alot, didn't bother about last years skate deck nonsense.
New ones (12) are not particularly lignt either (actual weight of my 181 ~1940 grams per ski) or anything but they just feel very, very nice on feet, super playful and poppy. Not "stiff" by any means, just right average progressive flex with alot of snap/rebound /whatever. Rail groomers surprisingly good also.

I demoed  these at Basin Sports in Killington, VT then applied the demo costs to a ski purchase. Sweet ski!

anthems are fantastic, chrons are fantastic, i like anthems cause they bend real real nice but if your tryin to park it up centered chrons are way fun! your call! also no reason to not center mount... just a thought!

haha you have no idea..
line inspired me to start skiing. ive been skiing for 5 years and they are the only skis ive ever ridden.
they will always have my business.
and they're coming in the mail soon, i just want it to snow and for them to get here so i can go skiing!!
