I agree with a lot of you. This technology is just ridiculous and unnecessary. It would be kind of cool to have, but at the same time I don't see the point of it unless you're like some sort of Steve Jobs or something. I'd rather have no electronics and just the simplicity of life. I hate being so attached to my phone and computer all the time but feel like I'm missing things when i don't have them.

Haha deal! And yeah, but jumping into the phone market was different. It was very competitive, but they revolutionized the smartphone with one of the first easily usable capacitive displays. Plus, the incorporation of the iPod into the iPhone eliminated the need for an individual music player and phone. Now you could use this argument with the TV like you said, they could integrate the Apple TV into an actual TV set. But there really isn't a need right now. A phone is upgradable every two years, now less, and they're cheap in comparison to TVs. The average replacement of household TV is what, probably every 7 years? Plus, it's a lot more expensive. When a new phone comes out, if your plan hasn't come up you can still sell that phone and buy the new one without taking much loss. But what happens when you buy a brand new LCD TV, and a year later you see the shiny new Apple TV? The resale market for TVs is shit, and the average consumer wouldn't buy it.

Just my two cents.

Yeah a lot of that technically could be done, it is just too expensive to be practical. We have developed a lot with polymeric LED displays that are see through and only need to be about 3mm thick.

I'm still waiting for someone to make a laptop with no mouse and a touch screen. Think about how much easier it would be. COME ON APPLE WHY YOU NO THINK OF THIS YET.

As far as everything in that video, it's cool but do not want. And having a gps in your car is noob status anyway. They are only necessary during certain circumstances.

Adding another 20 years to my days of waking up at 5 am to take my daily walk and playing cards for the rest of the day does not sound appealing to me. I'm perfectly content dying at age 70.

I can say for sure social security will run out. So how are we funding these revitalized 100 year olds? Also, the graph you posted has nothing to do with my original post. You quoted my first statement, but ignored the fact that I went on to state the exact point your graph made (that humans are currently living longer than we ever have in history). I then went on to say that I think there needs to come a point when we just allow natural selection to have some role in our lives.

You're right, I have no clue what the world will be like in 50 years. But if populations continue to expand as they currently are, the average life expectancy growing to 100 could have serious negative impacts on our world. And I see that point coming LONG before we have the technologies to expand our civilization outside of this world.
