STH 14 driver vs. STH/Pivot 14

Searched for it couldent find anything. thinking of getting these bindinga and i want to know wich one is more durable. I also want to know wich one has a better releasing mechanism basically wich is best at releasing when you want it to and not releasing when you dont. +k for advise

You mean fks/pivot right? And the main difference is that the drivers have a better toe piece while the fks have a better heel piece all in all i would say that the fks/pivot are a better binding but it is really just a toss up

what makes the toepiece on the Sth better than the Fks?

In my experience the toepiece on the FKS is much more durable than the STH. The FKS has a super wide platform for extra leverage and it sits much lower than the STH. The FKS is also full metal.

the fks/pivot has lateral movement as well, while the drivers do not

Only the FKS 18 din. The 14 DIN uses the same toe as the PX12 with a 14 DIN spring = plastic, not 1 piece burly metal.

If you get the Driver toe, it's probably better than the 14 DIN FKS toe, but maybe (depending on your opinion) not as good as the FKS 18 toe.
The Pivot heel is better regardless of the DIN, IMO, but I happen to be in the group that reckons they're a pain in the arse to get on if there's snow on the binding or your boot. So maybe if it's a pure pow ski, go Salomon, if it's more for park/all mountain, FKS?

Ok I rreally wish that they still sold the fks 155 because that would be perfect but I think im leaning tward the fks because i am from the east so pow is an imaginery thing that only shows up in dreams and once a year onjay peak or smuglers notch

So buy the sth toe piece and the fks heel piece.

Just buy a pair of 155s used. I copped a pair on tgr about a month ago in PRISTINE condition for $150.
