Questions about K2 Hellbent

Hey-

So I am thinking about buying a pair of 2011 Hellbents, but had a few questions. I know they are a pretty heavy ski, but does that affect swing weight that much? For those who have skied them, is spinning and buttering alright or do you have to swing pretty hard? I ski mostly Squaw Valley, so I get a moderate amount of powder if it hasnt been poached yet-- so how do the hellbents do on crud? Do they tend to hook and get bucked around on the bumps?

Im 5'10 130ish pounds- so I'm thinking about 179, that about right? could I push 189?

I skied all last season on 185 JJ's (had to sell them for textbook money) but am looking for a slightly more playful ski, but not too soft.

If you are looking for a not so soft ski and low swing weight, I am not sure the Hellbent is your best choice. That being said, the Hellbent is the best powder weapon readily available to the public. And I would for sure get the 189, you will not wreck, you will stomp everything, the deeper the better it gets with this ski, but if you are swing weight conscious, want a stiffer profile but still buttery and want a little bit less specific condition ski and more comparable to the JJ then go with something like the 193 Bentchetler or the 192 Rocker 2, I say the Salomon looks sick, haven't skied it but looks like a ski of the future.

^ he only weighs 130lbs, those skis you sujest will be way to big for him. A 179 hellbent would be fine but as said there not the best everyday ski. In deep pow there fun, but they will not carve anything like as well as the JJ.

The rocker 2 would be good, either get the 180 which is 115mm so it will be super playfull, or get the 184 which is 122mm if you want more float. I had the 184 rocker 2 last season, Im 5'11 170lbs and I really liked them. I had them centered but Im coming back 2cm this season for more stability.

Thanks for the responses guys. ya- the hellbents seem really appealing b/c I do a lot of switch riding. that said- im not able to ride switch as well on JJ's. do you guys know how switch riding is on rocker 2's or bentchetlers?

Well the rocker 2 rides pretty much likea JJ, but with lower swing weight. I found no issues with my rockers switch in pow, what issues were you having on the JJ
