Filming in 60p on cam, what should my projects be in FCP?

23.98? 60? i'm a little confused as to what the differences are despite the more cinematic feel in 23.98/24p

Well I don't understand your title, but essentially 60p or 60 Frames Per Second is just that. There are 60 frames or basically photos being captured in the camera per second.
60p is capturing more frames and therefore is going to be a smoother video w/ slo-motion.

you should conform it to 24p (or 23.98, i'm not aware of any advantage of one over the other), then import all to fcp, then drag any clip into the timeline and when it asks you if you want to make the settings match the clip, click that, it will be a little pop up window.
If it helps, my workflow, and one used by many on this site goes like:
import into organized folder
convert to prores LT or 422 (using mpeg streamclip for h.264 or cineform neoscene for avchd and h.264)
batch conform to 24p
import to fcp
match clip settings...

You have two options that i will address as simple as possible...
1. Conform 60p files to 24p with cinema tools then work in a 24p time line. You can drop the raw 60p files into this timeline, render and FCP will drop 36 of the frames for you to create 24fps clip at 100% speed. Then, you can use the conformed shots for slow motion and speed them up a little if you wanna make them less slow, etc.
2. Work in a 60p timeline. If you're working with ALL 60p shot this is the way to go. Alot of people will do #1 because they'll shot other 24p clips and want to mix them with the 60p shots. With ONLY 60p shots, just use a 60p time line and then you can slow down up to 40% in FCP with it still looking decent. I like doing this because i can take advantage of ramping and setting slow motion precisely. Then, just simply export it as a quicktime file at 24fps and boom bomb connect.

this second technique is mucho interesting. never heard of it id like to try it out.
why do you have to export it at 24 fps?

i guess you dont have to but 60fps raw looks terrible IMO 24p looks the best.
