i was up late to watch the Crossfit games and had to wait for 15 goddamn innings or something which delayed it past midnight. but anyway, congrats if your team/s made it

Actually I'm not a fair weather royals fan. I go to about 25 games in a season, I love the royals. but they never go to the playoffs so i have to root for someone else.

oh ha, not at all. Im royals 100%, if they made the post season I would root for them 100%. But rooting for the phillies just makes the post season more bearable untill the royals make the playoffs. Which in 5 years time might be possible with the people we have right now.

'more storied franchise'?? is that supposed to count for something? Thats the weakest excuse i've ever heard of...I've lived in Boston almost my whole life and I've come to terms with the fact that the team this year SUCKED...they had no spine and no one seemed to give a shit aside from a few players (pedroia, ellsbury, gonzo, paps...) almost everyone else never seemed to give a rats ass if they won or not

Of course I would have liked to see the sox in the playoffs this year but by no means did they deserve to be there, they started the season off terrible and were 7-20 in september..they were a shitty team with no hear

yea I'm gonna ahead and generally agree with this.

I won't bad mouth the Red Sox being that my paychecks come from them, but this team was in dire need of consistency when it counted. They weren't good at the start or the end. Midsummer they pretty much dominated.


And the sox are far from the most storied franchise in baseball, let alone sports on the whole. They are by the top in baseball, but compared with other sports teams...they really aren't. The Sox are famous for losing.


Nights like last night are the type that separate those who liked the Red Sox pre-2004, and the pinkhats. I've been a sox fan my entire life, and a red sox employee for a few years...I've been through it before.

Starting pitching killed the Sox this year. And towards the end I feel like their heart wasnt in it which is not a characteristic of the Sox. (Im a Yankee fan btw).

Also, I hate all the red sox fans bashing the yankees for not trying to beat the rays in the last few games...like the yankees have some sort of responsibility to knock the rays out of the playoffs so the sox can just slide in (even tho they couldnt beat the lowly orioles in the most important game of the season...)

newsflash idiots the yankees secured their spot in the playoffs a while ago and do whatever the fuck they want for the rest of the regular season including blowing huge leads and losing games because it doesnt matter to them

sounds like he wants out. i don't blame him with everything that's coming to light now. IMO theo should be gone. he created this pre-madonna team, and has spent more than enough money doing so. there's stories (rumors, I hope) of failed conditioning, drinking in the clubhouse, jealousy within the team, and just poor team camaraderie surfacing by the minute today.

i'm on team tito. he's the shit. he gave us 2 world series titles. it's the players that gave us the worst collapse in baseball.

I have faith in Doug Fister. The guy was stout as fuck for the Mariners( even though he pretty much had the worst run support in the AL), and now that he pitches with some offense, he has been a pure machine. Fister + Verlander + Cabrera = win it all

Its def going to be a pitchers duel. Hopefully Sabathia pitches like he did in the first half of the season and not the second.

Tito was a great manager, sad to see him go. But every great red sox player gets chased out of town eventually. Boston fans are great when times are good, but horrible when it goes bad. Manny, Pedro, Nomar, Boggs, Clemens, hell even Ted Williams was hated by the Boston media. Oh yeah and some dude named Ruth.

Just wait and see how bitter it gets when Papi leaves too. (i really hope this doesn't happen, but I definitely wouldn't bet against it)
