My first DSLR Edit!

Tell me what you think! this is my first dslr edit shot on a 60d with 18-135mm kit lens. It is my first real edit so tell me what you liked and what i need improvement on! Thanks

watch your exposure, avoid twixtor and film burn, and a lot of the shots were jerky seeming (pans) what tripod did you use?

Wasn't too bad, the main things i noticed were the music, first song was good but has been used alot, second song was dubstep which IMO just sucks don't use it. Second, im guessing you just have a dinky little tripod, so your pans and such wont be amazing but you cant do much about that without new equipment. be careful with your framing, some weird spots, also be careful with focusing, some shit was a bit soft. And dont use film burn, please.

thanks for the replys! and yea, all i have for now is my old, cheap tripod. probably cost less than $75.

you could try the rubber band trick, works pretty well for some people. Essentially you put a loose rubber band around the handle and pull the handle by the rubber band. If it doesn't work much better, its unfortunate but it would be worth at least trying

what do you mean watch my exposure? are you talking about settings, like aperture shutter speed etc?

maybe try a little bit higher shutter speed, seems like there was a little bit excessive motion blur in some shots IMO, also for slow mo try shooting at 60fps

put elastic on the pan arm of your tripod and instead of pulling and pushing the pan arm to pan and tilt. pull on the elastic. it will be much smoother until you get yourself a better video head.
