why does the video of the day pop-up at random times without warning? It's making NS run sooooooo slow for me. I feel like I have dial up.

nevermind, I now realize it is a result of things on the screen not populating very quickly-- so I click on something but it takes a few seconds for my click to register, and by the time my click registers the thing I'm clicking on is the video of the day or the video of the week.

I hope that makes sense. If it doesn't...forget I ever made this post.

I hated that view... when we had too many channels it just looked terrible... plus the page load was ungodly slow.

This is much faster, and awesome to watch on phones and tablets.

I do agree that the channel browser needs a touch of a cleanup.

How would you guys like to see channels organized? Popular channels first, or straight alphabetical?

I actually like the new NSTV slider on the right side. I do think you should icons to each channel though. Looking at channel names does get a bit boring and some can get lost while skimming too fast.

I think they should be organized by popularity. Though some channels don't get updated nearly as much as other popular ones.

We'll put our thinking caps on over this one. I agree we need some tweaks to it, but I'm not 100% sure what those are.

Probably some sense of who has most recently added an episode, mixed with like a TV guide type deal.

Also, it seems like a LOT of the NSTV channels are somewhat hidden in that side menu, like you only promote a couple through the main menu. It actually took me awhile to figure out where to even find links to other NSTV shows last night.

Doug, I know you want to make NSTV big, so it needs to be easier to access every channel and more prominent IMHO. The simple channel side menu is silly if it's the ONLY way to find most of those NSTV shows. Just my $0.04.

Maybe have NSTV on it's own home/landing page? Channels all listed in a side bar with the 'logos' that you had as above the player on NSTV before with featured so they're 'one click' from the NSTV page. Also have featured, popular and newest content playlists? and the big ol' movie player on the page of course. Not sure I said that clearly but I think the basic idea is simple.

The only thing I dislike about the Video Of The Day/Week/Month is that once the first video ends it goes straight to the next video. I'd prefer once the video stop an option to replay the video or continue to the next video. Something sort of along the lines of that would be rad. Just not a fan of videos automatically playing.

Yeah but the whole purpose of NSTV is to watch channels. We designed it this way because when you watch NSTV you're supposed to be able to sit back on the couch and just let videos play.

Most people have flat screens these days which they can (or already have) plug a computer into. This way, when you're sitting around watching ski videos with your buddies, you can just click over to NSTV and it will spit you out good ski content automatically.

The basic idea is simple, but it needs to be able to navigate tonnes of content easily. I like what you're putting down... we'll mock up some ideas and think about this a bit further.
