Truly.

Several of the victims were foreign players for the club. The squad includes players from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden. Among the victims, former NHL players Pavol Demitra, Ruslan Salei, Karel Rachunek, Karlis Skrastins, and Josef Vasicek, as well as goaltender Stefan Liv who was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 2000. Former Red Wings assistant coach Brad McCrimmon is also among the victims.

The report I read was that the plane "failed to climb to a safe altitude" before striking the air beacon atop the tower and then crashed into the river. So sad...

Apparently ESPN thinks Texas A&M leaving the Big 12 and Peyton Manning not playing is more important than this because they haven't said anything about this yet I've seen.  But CNN has it as their homepage news story. I wouldn't always trust ESPN for super up to the date stuff sometimes... CBSsports was very quick to report.. as was NBC.

Hockey is one of the few sports that requires quite a bit of skill, and besides, if I want to see black men running around and jumping, I'll just go to my neighborhood ghetto.

fuck man, have some respect. you have no idea what the cause of the crash was, whether mechanical, weather, pilot error, or a combination of events. there's nothing gained from such uninformed speculation, especially slandering the recently deceased crew.
