Possibly my favorite movie of all time. I watched it every day, probably at least twice a day, when I was in the hospital diagnosed with diabetes. I love it.

You work at Fenway....

We only have two Canadian professional ball teams left one being the Jays of the MLB and the other being one of their minor league affiliates the Vancouver Canadians. Cut me some slack here

yea i suppose that does alter the number of games i go to.

To be fair, by watching a full 9 innings, you've probably seen just as much actual play as I have all season. One of the downsides of the job if you really like watching baseball is that you really can't do a whole lot of it.

Hell I went from july 2010 to august 2011 without seeing a single pitch.

I try to go as much as possible, the tickets are very affordable but I just live a little far away to make it more often. It still must be a blast to work at Fenway though. I live about an hour and half away from the stadium but if I lived closer I would have applied for a summer job there hands down. There is something about the atmosphere at a ball game you just cant beat. I just wish Canada had more of it.

haha yeah i just watched that too. such a great movie, i must have seen it 50 times and its better every time. even though im not a team sports type of person, it makes me really love baseball, just a simple, fun good old all american game.

and the babe ruth dream speech is awesome, super inspirational.

yea it's a ton of family. It really is like a family over there too. We all go out drinking together, hang out, and enjoy ourselves at work.


plus my job grants me the ultimate ability that every worker wants. If I'm dealing with an unruly patron...it's not only my right, but my job to get rid of them and make it so they cannot come back. None of this the customer is always right bullshit.

i went to a game a week ago and they won, it was an epic game for sure, crowd was stoked and everything. Next time I'm in Vancouver i'm heading to a ball game with my brother for sure.

Me gusta, at the game I was at tonight some pompous douchbags were complaining about the level of noise at first base due to all the heckling of the first base coach after a few innings and a lot of alcohol consumption. One attendant told the two complainers that if they dont like it they could leave the game.

I know man, my brother and I just drinking some beer watching baseball, everyone else was stoked on the game. It was an epic finish too, bottom of the 9th we tie it up with a single home run and get a free burger and drink at a&w, only to have a walk off win in thee 11th inning. That was a fucking awesome game and honestly more fun than the last blue jays game i went to. The only shitty thing is that it was granville island beer haha.

I totally agree with you on this, even though I have only ever been at small fastball/slo-pitch tournaments because of where I live. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to be in a real stadium... I would have the biggest grin ever.
I'm pretty friggin' excited to be moving to Vancouver so I can go to some Canadians games next season and if I can find a friend to go to Seattle with me perhaps a couple Mariners' games in September.

I just wanted to point out this little part in the movie that no one ever catches. When the boys start throwing down their gloves all pissed, Tommy catches the glove that Squints throws on accident. I dunno why I just think its funny.

fenway is unbelievable for atmosphere. Stand out in the bleachers when the sox hit a home run...you'll feel it deep inside you. Tingles.


Almost as good as having 4,000 people cheer as you eject someone at the bottom of the stands. But fans don't quite get that privilege. And that in turn, is almost as fun as popping a beach ball and having those same 4,000 people boo you.


it's fun to manipulate a crowd.
