How to make tramp skis?

Don't hate, I just want to work on flips with grabs. I live in Maine so there are no water ramps anywhere. And don't say just wear your skis on the tramp, that's retarded, you get maybe a foot of air. I need a flat, semi-rigid material that I can attach shoes or boot liners to, any ideas?

well as you attach bigger and bigger things to your feet, the surface area increases and ur weight is distributed more and ur just gonna bounce less and less. like with real skis. why attach anything to the bottom of your shoes? just use ankle weights, they do a better job of simulating the swing weight of having boots and skis on during flips

Good question!  For a while I've been wanting to do something to make flips on a trampoline feel a little more like having skis on.  Edollo has a pretty cool looking foam snowboard type thing in his tramp edit:

i used a pair of old skates shoes and taped them to a skate board i had cut in half straight down the middle.

i just duck taped 2 (3'' by 30'') peices of quarter inch plywood to my old shitty shoes. i made sure to tape like 4 or 5 inches along the part that wasnt attached to my shoes because you can expect the wood to snap under the heel and toe. the extra tape keeps it together, and if done correctly, the skis will look rockered when broken and will rebound back to that position. just use a hefty amount of ductape.

take two 8 foot 2x4 and screw your shoes on it. you will see it works pretty well and only cost 3 bucks

the best thing to use are those foam sleds with the thin layer of plastic on the bottom. cut them to the desired width, tape shoes on and you are good to go. they have jut enough stability to hold shape in the air but they dont mess your jump up very much

pool noodles. the hollow kind. split enough to squeeze a shoe in. duct tape shut. put grippy stuff on the bottom if you want.

DO NOT USE ANYTHING RIGID. you wont be able to bounce.

whoever said PVC that is a no go.

my friend made some out of some actual foam that was kind of similar to the foam they use on those tramp boards, that he just cut and glued layers together, and then put straps on it for bindings

Threads.  Me and a friend made a pair out of cardboard and this flexible plastic stuff.  They broke within an hour but it was fun while it lasted.

We slashed one of our voda tramp boards into skis as a test. Looking to work with a tramp board manufacturer to build a tramp ski though. Any thoughts?

Just did that now. If the sled isn't long enough, divide it into 4's and attach two together for length. If they are too long just cut off the ends to desired length. Haven't used them yet I still need to take shoes on. I'll post pics later

threads. spent the last week trying to make a good pair out of cardboard.... long story short, unless you want floppy skis that bend when you land funny, don't make them out of cardboard

I did what the guy above me did, I got a foam sled. I then cut the sled into 4 long pieces but was still to short to use only 1 on each foot. So I got 2 of the long pieces taped them together with duct tape(lots) which gave me skis that were like 181cm. I then cut the end to shorten them and did some more cutting to make round tips. Then got old shoes and taped than a lot with duct tape. To summarize, find a foam sled, cut it into 4 then get two pieces for each ski and tape them together then cut the length you want and the shape you want. Then strap shoes and you are ready to bounce! Goodluck man hope this helped!

dont use pvc, just use the noodle, it will be hard as fuck to bounce with rigid skis on a tramp
