So I quit smoking weed

About a month ago I stopped smoking, for obvious reasons plus I have a couple court dates coming up and dont want to get fucked with a drug test. Over the past month I started running everyday, longboarding everyday, try to get to the gym as much as I can. Let me tell you, even though its just one month I can notice SUCH an improvement in my health, not to mention my lung capacity while running has improved ten fold.

If you enjoy the green as much as I did, not trying to tell you to stop it, but just try taking a little break and notice how much better you feel, its actually incredible.

Good for you dude!! That's awesome. I don't personally smoke weed but I understand that people enjoy it... so much that they forget the joys of sobriety sometumes. Congrats for getting your shit straight, hopefully you'll get some cred for that in court.

Why don't you do all those things and smoke? I run, lift, skate, hike, swim, throw etc. and smoke weed. Thats awesome you quit but you probably feel healthier because you are being so active.

Congrats but I believe you can be healthy and smoke weed.

I never dropped smoking weed, but I did start being more physical, going to the gym every other day, going hiking, swimming, that type of stuff all the time in order to get prepared to look my best for a cruise this summer. I can say that I felt overall much better that I had for a long time after just two months of decent training and added decent weight onto all of my lifts.

After the 1 week cruise of soberness, I felt very clear and sharp minded, along with my voice and lungs feeling strong and awesome. There is a noticeable difference. Since then, I've smoked maybe 5 or 6 times over a month in a half.


I got a vape :D Zero lung damage. So messed up.

Not saying you cant, because I also did most of those things while I smoked aswell, except the running portion. I just felt that I smoked too much, (a couple times a day) and felt like a break was necessary. Didn't mean for it to turn into a full on halt but it is what it is I guess haha. Also not saying im never going to smoke again, because I do/did enjoy getting high, but I believe when you are a daily smoker its hard to take a massive cut back in blazing without first getting it all out of your system, so in part thats also what Im sort of doing.

i feel you on that, i used to blaze a few times daily for close to three years. it's now been a full year since i bought bud (which was the main reason i quit, spending too much money on it) and the last time i smoked was 4/20. i've been working out a bunch and am in much better shape. sober is it's own high in itself i've learned. cheers

That's good. I go to the gym almost every day, spend lots of time outside with friends doing w/e, bike, and still smoke. I mean, in that movie 'Super High Me' the doctor said after 17 years of consistent pot use he couldn't find any long lasting negative effects. I get that that wouldn't be the case for everybody because people are different.. but with those kinds of odds i'll keep my ganja close :3

sick man nice, i will stop once or twice a year for 2 or more weeks just depends but i still am just as active but hiking i do feel a little less winded. but for the most part it doesnt seem to affect me to much.

I smoke at least twice a day and i ran 5 miles on the beach the other day, no problems. I'm sorry but smoking isn't bad for you

It may not be very physically harmful, but it definitely effects the mental.
Gotta keep a sharp mental.
How many long term pot smokers do you think are successful?
Sure there are a few smart pot smokers who's names are always tossed around, but thats just bullshit.

I've found that a sober good time is so much more fun than a high good time. The point is, use weed to make a dull time better, let it enhance the moment, but if the moment is already fun and exciting, save the bud for later.

I have also learned to not like being stoned when I'm at a get together when I don't know the majority of the people. I tend to be very self conscious and critical of everything I do and say when high and feel like I'm scaring people off when its usually the opposite. I tend to think everything I say is stupid or pointless to say, so I stay quiet the majority of the time and can't keep a conversation going, let alone get the courage to make a move on a girl. This is the time for sobriety, maybe drinking, but I don't like drinking often.

When the majority of the people around are your friends and there are a minority of new people, I love getting high and being super outgoing and funny to meet new people.

Everytime I want to hang out with 2 of my friends, they always want to smoke. It's not even necessary. If we are going to hang out with other friends, they always insist on smoking before. Now, I just choose to sit out, but It's so annoying being around my two friends high, cause they get straight up retarded.

yeah man i had the same problem this year. was smoking several times daily and stopped for like a month. stop smoking for like 4-5 days and just power through it. you wont want to eat, sleep, etc. but after like 5 days it goes away and you wake up early, clear headed and energized.

ive gone to bed high for the past like seven months and can sleep when not high completely fine. Its all mental, OP get a vaporizer after your court dates, all ill health effects vanish.

And osrry for the dub post, but saying 'quit smoking weed' makes it sound like you were addicted. I toked 3-4 times a day for a solid year and once I quit I never felt like I was 'addicted'

Dude i agree 100%. I have been a habitual stoner for 6 years. Quit smoking about a week ago for a job interview at the end of the month. Just in that week, i can also tell an improvement in my health. Although i still cant wait to smoke a bowl again, whenever that will be..

Good to hear bro! I'm going two weeks on being clean. Now my reason for being clean is getting caught by the police. Neither pipes/bongs/weed was mine, and my best friend was mature and owned up to it. Much love to him, he's probably going to get charged with a couple possession charges, but me and him are still really close. The close call has opened up my world, just realized how much of a risk it is. I'm quitting just because I dont want to be assosicated with that stuff, and never have to worry about the cops being up on you, you know what I mean? My best friend and I work at the same place and even though we don't get to hang much cause our parents wont let us do anything its cool to see him at work and talk to him with text all the time. I'm glad were still close through this shit. I feel a bit physically better, but I mainly feel mentally better. Im just going to continue to work hard at my job, my friendships, and school.However, I need to find a motivation to work out, I've got a bit of a belly on me, not saying I'm fat, or that I need a 6 pack, just to be a bit leaner. I wish I could find it like you have.

Anyhow, good for you! I enjoyed the green, many people still do, but simply think about your actions..could you live without it? Is it worth it? If you feel it is go right ahead, its a fun trip, but theres so much on the line, and while I'm an example of it, I was able to get get away. All I am saying is make your decisions wisely, just a piece of advice.
