As of late, I've been looking for a solid powder ski for the northwest. I have a couple ideas in mind, but was wondering specifically about hellbents. I know the dimension differences (1cm throughout, slightly softer flex on the old, flat camber vs 1mm camber, rounded sidewalks, etc.), but how specifically does the performance differ? I've heard that the new version are a step up in float and slightly in carving ability, but is it going to be that big of a difference, especially for someone who's pretty lightweight?
Specs: age 16, 130lbs, 5'10", expert skier, like to ski quite aggressively in open spaces and trees, but enjoy jibbing off of features when I see them. Trickery and the occasional park lap included.
Thanks!
No hate, I enjoy most of your posts, but you're incredibly biased towards ON3P. They're totally different skis, almost all of the traits you just mentioned are completely debatable, and more importantly, completely up to personal preference.
Oh I've heard, and while I'm seriously looking at Caylors, This is just specifically wondering about hellbents. Probably should have made that more clear in the original post.
in the same boat as you man. would really like to take a look at some caylors in person and get a feel for the flex. its between bents, caylors and maybe newlifes
