Alright guys, I happened to stumble upon the Freestyle Skiing Wikipedia page earlier today and saw that it was missing a lot. Here it is:

I mean c'mon, there is so much more that has to be on there. We've got to get this going, its in bad shape right now.

I'm not one of those kids that know every little thing about the development of the sport but I know there's a few on this site that do. And to be honest, I feel bad that I don't know it. I feel like you guys here on NS can do this justice and get the page back in shape and help all of us out who need to brush up on their freeski history in the process.

I've always found the wikipedia pages on skiing to be very poorly written.

one goal of mine that I've always had though is to start a Newschool wiki. For some reason I've never gotten around to it. Maybe now's the time, it being summer and all.

I'm talking about an actually wiki specific for newschool skiing. where someone can find a page on anything from 09 line blends to a page on the first dew tour. just a general agglomeration of all newschool knowledge.

while the sport is young and the history fresh, I think it's incredibly important to have this history documented as it's the kind of thing that gets lots easily. especially as the first generation are growing older and being less involved in the sport. I would personally find it rather sad if in 20-30 years none of what is happening now is written about and lost

Newschool skiing now consist of wearing baggy clothes, acted like a thug, throwing up gang signs, listening to rap music. Also it is now important to look good wearing brands like Jiberish and Saga.

I'd make one myself but have a feeling it wouldn't get off the ground very fast or go anywhere far. If it was linked/hosted by NS then that would be amazing as it could and most likely would go somewhere fast. but as was pointed out, it would be incredibly difficult to moderate, although I'd say there are enough dedicated members who would be able to do a great job with it

Its missing a lot of the progression of the sport, especially within the past 15 years. I don't know what thread it was, but I remember reading it a year or two back about the class before Tanner/Simon/T-Wall/E-Dollo/Henrik and all of this. I hardly know anyone from that older class and its incredibly difficult to learn what they did for the sport
