Torrenting in college.

Ya its not allowed but I know it can be done. I kinda torrent a lot and don't want to stop but I don't want to get caught and have my internet shut down. Right now I don't seed and I use an outgoing encryption. Will I be fine how I am or how are you guys doing it?

your fine the amount of traffic on a college network is huge and the chances of a mod picking your feed when your torrenting is small and as long as your not downloading huge files your not going to attract much attention to yourself

Does your school have a DC++ network? If it does that shit is boss as fuck. It uses the local network so you can download a whole HD movie in like 5 seconds.

Like the guy above me said its DC++ and a shit load of college networks have it. You should be fine with limited traffic just torrenting like normal. I know on my old campus you had to break like 50gigs a month to be looked at

yeah my boy torrented a fuck ton while in the dorms, they only time he got caught was when he accidentaly left it up on night and got caught uploading

and just wait for a somebody else to do it first and see what happens. the school i go to only watched for torrents on the wireless network (as to not bog it down) so ethernet was the way to go. every place will probably be a little different so don't be the first idiot to get busted

if all youre looking for is music, google searching for an album or song and adding 'mediafire' is all you need to do (direct download, not a torrent if you didnt know that)

mediafire is faster than any other option (megaupload or rapidshare put download limits on speend and size) and will more than likely be faster than any torrent download.

this is also a good source for direct downloads of music, video, ect. 

i dont even use torrents anymore. i jsut type the song or album name in google then put filestube after it and it pops up all the filestube results. the redirect you to mediafire, 4shared, megaupload, rapidshare, lots of third party download sites. nothing sketchy, just good links. happy tunes.
